Here on business, so did not hang out. Staff was very helpful, went out of their way to help w/some business items. Were very helpful on reservation as well. Room was good sized, Clean, nicely deco, fridge, Micro & WiFi that worked. Bathroom all worked & Clean. Restaurant was OK but limited, would eat somewhere else next time & especially... More

We booked this place after reading many TA reviews and came away underwhelmed, with no intention of coming here again. We arrived Sunday afternoon from the Palm Springs area, not realizing that their heralded barbeque menu was not available on Sunday and Monday nights. They only offered a very limited pizza, pasta menu. The place was busy with guests and... More

We stayed here two nights while birding the Salton Sea. We would look seriously into staying closer to Brawley next time. Brawley is the biggest town around. This hotel is in the very small town of Calipatria, 10 miles away from Brawley. The hotel is pleasant but it has some drawbacks which I will explain. There is a very small... More

We were really surprised by this place, their web site doesn't do it justice. Friendly staff and spacious rooms with a fridge, microwave and free WiFi that worked. The place is really clean and the pool area was spotless. There are a lot of farm contractors staying here and they were interesting to talk to. The breakfast was just enough... More

You have very few choices for locations convenient to the Salton Sea and the Sonny Bono wildlife refuge - this is a great choice. Located on the main regional highway through the region but relatively insulated from street noise, it doesn't get much more convenient than this. Normally, you expect to sacrifice quality for convenience when there are limited options... More

We stayed 2 nights while birding at the wildlife refuge/Salton sea which this is convenient to. Room clean, comfortable and quiet and the grounds very nice. The breakfast is minimal. The food in the restaraunt is very good (although as others noted limited choices) and nice interesting and inexpensive wines.

I wanted to stay at a decent hotel close to the Salton Sea and this hotel certainly was convenient, well located and had good access to restaurants and shops. The hotel room was spacious and other than that was fairly standard for a mid-range hotel/motel room, however the cost of the room at $76 per night was a lot lower... More

I've stayed at the Calipatria Inn several times now because it's convenient and central to the south end of the Salton Sea. The Salton Sea is a bizarre , almost enchanted place, especially in winter when tens of thousands of ducks, geese, shorebirds, and others come to escape the cold of northern climates. The Calipatria Inn has never failed to... More

Beautiful is an apt description for the Calipatria Inn & Suites!! Shade trees filled with many varieties of birds complete the relaxing county-like atmosphere. It was quiet--unlike the chain motels in a large city setting. Our suite (The Mallard) was clean and very comfortable. A lovely quiet dining room provided the setting for a wonderful dinner at a very reasonable... More

Ideal place to stay for bird watchers. Clean and comfortable. Food a bit limited for choice but pleasant enough. Rooms were of a generous size and a fridge was appreciated! The only downside was the how noise from rooms/verandah above and plumbing noises from neighbouring bathrooms. However, I am a VERY light sleeper so probably no concern to others.
