The Santa Ynez Valley Marriott is an outstanding pick! It's right off Highway 101 in California's Central Coast / wine country - a short walk to the famous Andersen's Pea Soup property and a very short drive to Solvang. I'm familiar w/ the area having lived there for a number of years in the early 90s but had never stayed... More

The breakfast buffet is very good, the rooms are relatively spacious, the atmosphere relaxed, the pool area is nice, there is ample parking and the location is just about perfect for wine country touring. On the flip side, the rooms are not well sound proofed. We could hear conversations in adjoining rooms. Easily accessible - just off 101 in Buellton.

Decided last minute to get away for the weekend. We used Priceline, for the first time, and were genuinely surprised to end up with a Marriott. Great place to stay. Convenient to Solvang, wine tasting, many other fun activities in the Santa Ynez Valley (and if you have kids with you be sure to go to the Ostrich Farm!). The... More

This is not a bad place to stay if you are going to the San Ynez Valley. It is not far from the Hitching Post so that is a plus. The breakfast buffet is not bad at $16/person and it is not bad. If you decide to take a wine tour, just use a cab driver in front of the... More

When I booked this hotel I did not notice the 48 hour cancellation policy. I had to change plans 30 hours ahead of arrival and cancelled, seeing that within an hour, the hotel was now completely full. Most other hotels would pocket the money anyway(this happened last year in Florida when the room in question rebooked within ten minutes). In... More

stayed at the santa ynez valley marriott recently and had a great experience. booked a "wine package" ...the hotel was very clean, loved the beds, great buffet breakfast, very friendly staff...from desk personnel, housekeeping, gardners....i think i heard a friendly "hello" and a smile from probably 15 staff members....stayed here a few years back on a golf package and had... This is a tough place to review. It was a Best Western until about 20 years ago when, as I understand it, Marriott acquired it and added crowne molding, etc, to make it seem more fancy. But it still has the bones of a lower tier hotel than what I am used to with Marriott, and I used to work... More

This hotel is well located to the Santa Ynez wine country. It's right off the freeway which is welcome after a day of driving; even so, the windows are well insulated so there is no road noise in your room. It's 5 minutes from Solvang and only a few more minutes to the vineyards. The staff is very accomodating and... More

My daughter and I truly enjoyed our relaxing visit here....the facility is beautifully decorated, very clean, and the beds were heavenly. Breakfast --full buffet-- was complimentary; internet accessibility free, and a Starbucks in the lobby! Very reasonably priced and excellent service! Very near lots of wineries and wine tastings. Try the spa in the hotel; again very reasonable priced, convenient,... More

We stayed here because it was 3-4 miles from Solvang. It was a very nice Marriott, but was a little higher priced from what we paid on this trip. It did include two $15 breakfast buffets, so if you are eating breakfast it is worth it. There were three in our room, so we had to purchase and additional buffet.... More
