This is an older motel which is kept up very well. The rooms were large and clean. The property backs up onto a creek and there are mountain views all around the town. This looked to us like the best motel in this little town. The motel was very quiet and we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed there for 1 night on our trip from Yosemite NP to lake Tahoe. (whole trip Vancouver BC/ to San Francisco to Vancouver BC) It was one of the best motels on the entire trip. Friendly staff, clean and not expensive for spacey rooms. It is a lovely place in the middle of nowhere between mountains and prairie. we... More

If you are driving up or down hwy 395, the Walker River Lodge is a great find, especially if you are planning to spend some time at Travertine Hot Springs. We had originally planned on stopping in Lee Vining on our way north, but discovered not much is open there in earlyJanuary. What a relief to pull into Bridgeport and... More

In the middle of nowhere, what a chance to get this nice place for a good night. It was clean and quiet, we loved this place even if we did not spend too much time. I would just suggest to owners to talk more about the region , what to see, .. Nice motel

We couldn't have been more comfortable in this cozy lodge which is located in Bridgeport, CA. The room was clean with comfortable bed linens. The shower and bath were clean. The inn provided quality shampoos and bath essentials. At night the inn was quiet, and we were not disturbed by the other guests. A continental breakfast is provided with coffee,... More

Stayed here for one night on motorcycle tour in October. Room was freezing on arrival - 2 small room heaters - 1 wasn't working - took a while to warm up. The room was adequate and seemed fairly clean - matches description of other reviews. Bed was okay for a night. Wasn't that impressed with the size or selection of... More

We are very sorry you weren't able to adjust the heat in the room. We have floor board heaters that run almost the entire length of the wall and sometimes guests do not realize that they are there. The thermostat is on the wall to adjust the heat. Our beds are very new and they are Eurotop. Our continental breakfast... More

My family and I spent one night at the Walker River Lodge while on a visit to Bodie. It is an old-school motel (as are most of the accommodations in Bridgeport) in the scenic Eastern Sierras. The motel is easy to find and right across the street from a wonderful breakfast/lunch restaurant (Hays Street Cafe). The grounds are nicely maintained.... More

We are very sorry about the situation with the shower/tub water pressure. If you would have pulled a little harder on the handle, the pressure would come out just fine. I, personally, went to those rooms and the water pressure is perfect, but one did have to pull a little harder than normal. We are lubricating all the bath handles... More

Clean and surprisingly cute rooms for a simple motel. The furnishings in our room looked new. It was nicer than the online photos led us to believe. The lobby was a former antique store, with some charm. Hot chocolate was appreciated on a chilly night.

We love the WRL and have been staying here since 1972 at least once a year mostly in the Fall. The river room is relaxing, great cont bkfst, good & friendly staff. It just couldn't be a better place to stay. We were here 9 nights. The 2nd nite was unfortunately Friday nite when the local Clampers were getting together... More

First, I am the "previous" owner - my family has owned the Walker River Lodge since 1972. Secondly, we tried to warn every guest that checked in that this event was happening. We even told guests that had reservations, that they could decline staying and they would not be charged a cancellation fee. The Clampers come every year, the second... More

We are sorry about the carpet. The carpet was just installed last year and we professionally clean the carpet twice a year. We did just have some fire fighters here protecting Bodie from burining down - they occupied a lot of rooms. We will have to check this out immediately. More
