This is a cute place with cabins and small campground. We had rented one of the wagons, and it was cozy and fun to sleep in. However, maybe we were there at a bad time, but the grounds and restaurant seemed to be severely understaffed. The bathrooms were very dirty (see pictures). I mean, dirty in a general sense of... We stayed in a cabin with our two kids and brought our dog. It isn't the picturesque quality of something you might find in Sunset Magazine, but it is a good value for a traveling family. Our small cabin had a front porch, a small picnic table outside, kitchen with sink, stove and microwave, fridge, a futon, one uncomfortable Queen... More

We stayed here unexpectedly having arrived too late to visit Bodie and needing accommodation until we could visit in the morning. It was one of our best unplanned stays ever. The room in the motel is a cosy log cabin, tastefully decorated and toasty warm. The restaurant food was great with enormous portions but most of all the owners were... More

Extremely friendly staff, we arrived in the late evening and they kept their restaurant open just for us! Accomodation is just beautiful and quaint, in wooden cottages. The room was very cozy and clean. Breakfast in the restaurant is fantastic! Coffee, bacon, eggs and potatoes, what more could one want? The junction to Bodie is just minutes away, Mono Lake... More

The pictures of the cabins showed something much more 'cozy' and woodsy than what they were. Stayed here after visiting Bodie. It was convienent as I was heading to Yosemite. The cabin was on Virginia Creek, which was nice, but my cabin was very close to the owner's home which was being worked on. There was broken glass in the... More

Strange little place with weird people running it. Free parking and wifi - was ok. Rooms were cute but too small for family of 4. Literally nothing else around - restaurant looked scary so didn't eat there - was also pricey. Ok for one night on the way to Tahoe.

They have a variety of accommodations - we stayed in a cabin (really just a shed). Beds provided, but if you need bedding you need to book that. (I had not realised this, but the staff could not have been more helpful and the problem was soon resolved). Having just stayed in Curry Village in Yosemite, this was better accommodation... More

Had the pleasure of 4 nights here, primarily to go to Yosemite and surrounding area.It was a good choice. The rooms in the motel are all wood, very clean if not a little small. The road noise may be a problem for some but for us it was not an issue. We dined at the settlement restaurant for dinner and breakfast on... The place is near Bodie, Yosemite and Sierra Nevada. We arrived very late because of a detour. I called ahead and they left the key and a note outside our room, which had already been heated because temperature was around 0°C. Behind the cabins runs a little river. If you leave the door open neighbouring wildlife may enter (cute little... More

Twice this locale has been our one-night stop over prior to a multi day back country, backpacking trip into the eastern sierras. Both visits have been exceptionally pleasant. Setting along virginia creek is idyllic; if only the 395 highway weren't so close. Easy to overlook given the setting and service. Don is great as is entire staff. Food is good... More
