Stopped in this lovely, quite, small town to stumble upon the Bridgeport Inn Restaurant. Service was excellent, food was very good. Planning a return trip and will be booking a room to stay overnight. Well worth seeking out!

The town of Bridgeport, CA is really cool. The building remind me of the Wild, Wild West ! The bar was very old fashioned, the rooms above the bar were interesting to say the least. We were told that one of the rooms was even haunted ! Very friendly owners and staff. Also had a great breakfast !

After going to Bodie Ghost Town we stayed at get Bridgeport Inn, we were shown the Mark Twain Suite, lovely decor with a small lounge attached to our room. This room is aparantly haunted, despite that we had a good nights sleep, in the morning I heard a sigh,or was that just some air brakes outside, dunno ! ! Was... More

We stayed at the Inn with friends on a motorcycle trip. The rooms above the Inn are small and have shared baths. They is a row of Motel rooms next door, which is were we stayed. The rooms are older but more than suitable. Clean, comfortable and lots of hot water in the shower! Upon arriving at our next nights... More

Going down 395 with my husband, we decided to eat lunch in Bridgeport. He usually eats at another restaurant there on his bi-annual trip to the High Sierras, but as it was closed, I said I'd rather try the Bridgeport Inn anyway since I love old hotel restaurants. BAD decision!! I am a lover of French Dip sandwiches, so when... More

Thanks for your comments. Sorry you didn't care for our version of a French Dip. It's a very popular sandwich with our guests. We do offer all guests a different meal if they let us know they are unsatisfied. We are the best restaurant in Bridgeport, and are recommended first by all motels. We do have daily specials and hope... More

Room was clean and quiet. The "free breakfast" was $3.95 off menu items...but would get you cereal, one waffle or one pancake, a fruit cup or cereal. All in all, not sure I'd stay there again...but I did like the idea of a ghost haunting the hotel...although my room was in the typical motel configuration. Also, in Bridgeport the parking... More

Thanks for the review. The daily coupon of $3.95 per person was designed to allow the guests the choice of use at any meal. Many guests take advantage of the discount at dinner after checking in because they will leave early the next morning prior to our restaurant opening at 7am. Bob Peters, owner. More

Up from San Diego to Bodie. This place is great. It's almost 150 years old, so it's got creaky stairs, wallpaper my grandparents had in their home, red carpet, but that's part of its charm. I've read other reviews where people complain it's old, well Duhh.. That's the point of it!! Our room (4) has furniture in it that's older... More

Traveling to the Eastern Sierras in August is a big mistake for anyone who hates the heat and staying in a Victorian era inn won't make it any better when the bedrooms are on the top floor with a window style air conditioner. Our room was miserably hot until midnight. That being said, the staff was very hospitable and I... More

Thanks for the review. Yes, we are very popular, and our restaurant is recommended by all the other lodging properties. Our window A/C units are usually very quick to cool the room. Sorry yours took awhile. We rechecked them all and made sure the filters were clean. Bob Peters, owner. More

I passed through Bridgeport for a night between lake Tahoe and Yosemite. This place was very basic. It had shared bathroom facilities, a fairly small room with an uncomfortable bed and no powerpoints. I don't think it was cheap enough to warrant this but I guess being one of the only hotels in town they justify it.

Thanks for the review. You may be happy to know that we just completed the installation of electric outlets in all the upstairs rooms. We believe that the price for the room is, indeed, very fair compared to all other lodging facilities in the Eastern Sierra region. We do have other room choices with all the normal amenities. We had a reservation through booking.com which they respectfully gave a s**t about and sold the room to a higher price. Two other 'non-'guests we met there had just the same experience. It was a very crowded weekend at the Yosemite area so they tried to squeeze every dollar out of the tourists. We had to drive another three hours... More

Thanks for the review. Their is only one reason that we ever cancel a reservation, and that's if the guest does not provide a valid credit card number, and will not respond to our phone call and/or email. Your credit card was invalid. Sorry you think our restaurant was "mediocre". We are the top restaurant in our area, and a... More
