We stay here every year as we make our way up and down 395. It is an older motel, but always very clean and comfortable. The rooms are small, but well appointed with a fridge and micro and tv. They close down early Dec-March, which I never knew til this year because the holiday fell so late on the calendar.... More

Thank you for the positive review! We welcome the comparison of our room rates to other locations in town who may charge a similar rate but without our amenities that include: A private bathroom (tub/shower combo), air conditioning, in-room coffee (pastry and juice @ front office), free Wi-Fi, cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, unlimited ice, pet-friendly rooms available, and individual outdoor... We stayed one night booked on day before arriving. Owner quoted one price 5 days before, then increased it when I booked on day! Very dated, but good size, clean, and quirky owner offered us juice and pastries for the morning, and as we're English offered us tea instead of coffee, sweet. These are wooden rooms, so unfortunately we were... More

We decided to stay here based on the lonely planet book and it was a lovely stay. The owner was very knowledgable about the local area and gave us a map to the local hot springs which were superb! The room was nice but the air conditioning was very loud but the ceiling fan worked a treat. The location is... More

We thank Lonely Planet for the referral and you for your positive review. It sounds like you enjoyed the local hot springs (2 locations to choose from) during your stay. We find that placing the A/C on a medium setting cools the room more efficiently and is quieter for our guests. Please consider staying with us at the Redwood Motel... More

I stayed here for one night before driving over Tioga pass to Yosemite National Park. It did look a bit scruffy from the outside, but the room was completely clean, the owner was reasonably friendly and gave good advice on where to eat in Bridgeport. Everything in the room worked, including the coffee maker, tv and fridge. The air conditioner... More

We thank you for your positive comments on our convenient location and clean, quiet, and affordable rooms. We offer a complimentary pastry and juice to our guests upon check-in but do not advertise this snack as a breakfast. We find that placing the A/C on a medium setting cools the room more efficiently and is quieter for our guests. Please... More

I have stayed here three times, for a night each time, just passing through Bridgeport. The most recent trip, this past July 16, the price ($74) was very reasonable for this neck of the woods, where prices can be much higher in "high season" (I'm always there in June-August). I don't understand the "rude" comments, though I'm not contesting what... More

Three stars is a bit generous for this motel. Anyplace else, it would be a solid two. But one has to re-think the rating system for Bridgeport. After all, this is a town that invented the term "no-frills". And The Redwood Motel is just that; an ok, basic motel that doesn't pretend to be anything else. My initial impression of... More

Rooms are clean comfortable and well furnished with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker. Especially enjoy the outdoor picnic area and BBQ grill in park like setting. Have stayed several days each of last 4 years and make a point of returning on travels. Locally owned and managed and owner gives warm welcome. Knowledgeable about nearby sites. Will stay again.

This is a charming motel inside and out. The motel property is studded with yard art, very cute. Room was nice, well maintained and clean. We went there on a fishing trip and appreciated the fish cleaning facilities and a "fish freezer." Best of all is the owner/manager who gives this motel it's personality. He was helpful and personable. I... More

At $77 including tax, not sure if this is high for the town, or not. Other than that, we loved the place. Had weird and interesting statues and artwork on the grounds. Room was smallish, but cozy (was very cold). Had frig, microwave, coffeemaker, wifi and tub. Walking distance to Rhino Bar, which was convenient after a tough driving day.

We stayed 2 nights recently in Room 27. We were traveling with a small dog and were pleasantly surprised to find such a well kept room!
