OMG! I don't know who is writing the positive comments on this "resort", but they are a hoax! This is not a lover's retreat just because you have a fireplace and a jacuzzi. We needed something close to a project site, and this was the closest. When we called the owner said there was a 4-star restaurant, and the accommodations... more

Dirty, filthy, falling apart, bugs, dust everywhere, and so bad that my husband wouldn't take a shower in the stall because it was dirty! The owner has been advised to close one cabin at a time and renovate, then do the next, etc., so that only one cabin is out of service. But, no, the almighty dollar overrides his sense... more

We attended a friend's wedding at Live Oak Springs and thought the cabins were adorable. We booked a package with massage, dinner and breakfast and the food was delicious. The ambience reminds me of something you might see back east. The family that runs it treats their guests like family. They really care and it shows. more

Live Oak Springs is the place we go to relax and have fun without the kids. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is the best! Our parents receive Gift Certificates every year for Christmas. more

Don't go - this place was awful!!! Cabins old and dirty - doesn't seem this place has been upgraded since it was built 40 years ago. Disgusting cabins with outlets hanging out of the walls - oil stains..or whatever kind of stains on carpet. Bathrooms disgusting - bed sheets had not been changed in not sure how long....found leftover items... more

For our anniversary last year we decided to stay at Live Oaks Springs. The owners and staff were the best, hands down. Very friendly and the guy working the bar (I forgot his name, I know totally rude) was just a good person. I have to agree with the others that the place was a bit run down. It's really... more

That's not a resort at all, it's a very expensive 1 star hotel!!! Dirt, old, weird, freeky, same capert from 1946, everywhere and everything was dusty! Our room had hair everywhere, cigarretes (not in the ash tray!!!), leftover in the fridge, the sheets were worn and torn, etc, etc. It was an awful experience. Don't believe in the ads!!! more

An hour and a half drive to the mountain. We arrived and were greeted warmly. Got booked into our cottage. An ash tray on the stairs and an empty beer bottle with a cigarette in it on the balcony along with a used jar of body butter from the dollar store was less than romantic. Adding the etching of names... more

My husband and I enjoyed our recent stay at this wonderful little place in the mountains. We needed to get out of the city for a couple of days and this was perfect! The cabins are great and we are now planning a family gathering at Live Oak Springs for the holidays. more

My husband and I just returned from a quick, one day/night getaway for our anniversary. We were looking for country/quaint, and this seemed to fit the bill, even though we saw one negative review on this place, which isn't necessarily alarming. Every great place has at least one disgruntled customer. I think they used to be very busy, before the... more
