My partner and I stayed here at the end of April when the weather was surprisingly mild - warm without being stifling. And although it's not a budget hotel by any means, I felt the experience totally justified the cost - I really think what you're paying for here is something unique, utterly different from your regular business/tourist hotel. The... More

My wife and I had an amazing time at this great desert getaway. Beautiful views of the Santa Rosa Mts. Very quiet and peaceful. A great place to recharge the body and mind. More

To review objectively the Borrego Valley Inn, you have to separate the hotel from the striking Borrego Springs desert experience. It's easy to be so overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the Anza-Borrego park, that any lodging review in Borrego can be rose-pink tinged with the desert's glow... The location is stunning, no doubt. Then only downside is that it's... More

Thanks for visiting and giving the Inn a try. We are sorry your experience did not match your expectations. We try not to represent the Inn as anything other than what it is -- small, casual, down-to-earth, and natural, a comfortable and restful place from which to explore the desert wilderness all around us. We consciously strive to be low-key... More

After an extremely busy time at work back home in England it was a prickly pair who arrived at the start of their holidays via San Diego at Borrego Valley Inn. But what a treat ! Our room - the Prickly Pear (room 2) - was gorgeous, and we quickly discovered the wonderful "European style" pool conveniently located behind our... More

Love your play on words -- "prickly pair/Prickly Pear"-- how perfect! We are so happy you found the Inn a haven to unwind after a busy time. We agree that the "marvels of the desert" have an amazing calming effect, even when jet-lagged like you two. Thank you for finding us, making the long journey to stay, and for your... More

There have been some changes at Borrego Valley Inn. All the beds have been upgraded, and about half of the rooms now feature king size beds. The TV's are now flat-panel hi-def units. There is new rustic furniture around the common areas, as well as on each room's private patio. The Wifi has been upgraded so that a strong signal... More

Thank you for noticing our new improvements! -- and that the essence of the Inn hasn't changed. Hopefully, you found it even better! We appreciate your observations and are especially happy that you find the Inn and Borrego Springs worth visiting again. As you note, the dark skies and easy pace do offer a real change from hectic everyday lives.... More

Normally when I go to Anza Borrego, it's to camp and hike. This time, however, the point was to give my wife a little "babymoon" so we mostly just hung out by the pool and stared at the sky. Borrego Valley Inn is a great place to do that, both day and night. Our room was very comfortable and the... More

Congratulations on the pending arrival -- your life will never be the same again! And how lovely that you made the time for a special "babymoon" for the two of you. We hope the "low-key and relaxing" time you had gave you the energy you'll surely need in the months ahead. Thank you so very much for choosing the Inn... More

Looking for a place to get away from it all and find your inner quiet? Then I recommend Borrego Springs and more specifically, the Borrego Valley Inn. This property is situated in/adjacent to the Anza/Borrego State Park and we spent a glorious weekend there. There are only 15 rooms in the Inn and it appears to cater to quiet adults... More

Your post, so beautifully written, has touched us and given us food for our souls, thank you so much! Seeing guests "get it" is what makes inn-keeping here our passion. We remember well our own experience at the Inn and in the Park, visiting ever more frequently from our home in Santa Monica, until we just gave in and moved... More

This was my first trip to Borrego Springs so I don't have other lodging locations to compare the Borrego Valley Inn with. However, when comparing the Inn to the countless other places I've stayed in bothdomestically and Internationally over the years, this is definitely one of the better ones. There's nothing particularly fancy or posh about Borrego Valley Inn, it's... More

Thank you for visiting Borrego Springs and the Inn and for your thoughtful post about what to expect . Helping our guests feel "relaxed and at peace" is our aim, so we're happy to hear about your experience. The room you chose is one of the most popular for the reasons you mention, and it was actually our favorite, too,... More

We had a very restful weekend. The B&B is landscaped and decorated in Santa Fe style. I would suggest that people who just want to retreat bring food (microwavable) and drinks; to take advantage of microwave, small frig, and sink in room. Breakfast was buffet style (cold items) and quite adequate variety. The only limitation is with Borrego itself. If... More

"Sheer relaxation and getting away" is what it's all about, and we're pleased you found the Inn a good place to do that. And while it may be easy to think there's "less and less to do" if you've visited Anza-Borrego a few times, we've found just the opposite. We've been exploring the Park for nearly 15 years and feel... More

We just returned from a stay at the Borrego Valley Inn. What a lovely place, run and staffed by friendly and kind people. The grounds are gorgeous and conducive to sitting in peace and winding down. We stayed in the only suite (so comfortable), which has a great full kitchen. Dining options are somewhat limited in Borrego Springs (at least,... More

"Heavenly Retreat" -- love the sound of that, and thank you for putting it into words. It's such a joy to provide that sense of respite for those who need the down time that simply being so close to nature provides. Thank you for visiting, and we'll do our best to keep it heavenly for you! More
