In general, we were disappointed by this campground. The sites tend to be very close together and very small. The southern end of the campground is bordered by a chain link fence; on the other side is a street with a decent amount of traffic. Other campsites backed up to family homes on the other side of the fence. Campsite... More

After many years of visiting Bodega, I've finally got around to camping at Bodega Dunes. Should have done so sooner and often. Nice campsites, mostly very private. Clean washrooms, really good free showers. Trails over the dunes can be challenging. Choose campsites carefully if the weather is windy--you could get a gritbath. Campground hosts were really pleasant folks.

I have stayed here many times and I have to say that I love it. My last campsite had a bit of wind problems, but they were easily overcome, or put up with, and slightly entertaining. The whole thing is very well maintained, though there are no soap or towels provided. There are multiple trails over the dunes that are... More

We just got back from Bodega Dunes and had a great experience! The sites were pretty private and of varying sizes (get there early for pick of the litter. Picnic tables and deep fire enclosures at every site. The bathrooms were super clean and well stocked... and of course FREE hot showers! We were first time campers and weren't really... More

Camped here with a group of 4 families in July 2013. Mostly there are only good things to say, but a few things to keep in mind: The good: - BEAUTIFUL. And like a 10-minute walk from the beach, which is great for kids! - Totally dog-friendly. The state park website says it's not, so we left our pups and... More

Stayed 4 nights over Memorial Day weekend. 4 adults and 4 kids in two sites. Had to get there a day early so we could get two sites together, which is one of the biggest drawbacks of the California State Park system. We made the reservation for a 31' site to accomodate our motorhome, but it is still first come,... More

Make sure you take a good torch / flashlight as the shortest routes to the restrooms can be through narrow paths in the woods. It can get chilly even when the surrounding area is warm but we liked that. Clean restrooms but the site was really empty when we stayed. Only a couple of toilets so could be tough when... More

Really lovely site. Great wooded pitches. Free showers (big plus when tenting). Stunning beach is quite a walk but well worth it. That foghorn thing is there in the background but it never bothered me and I'm quite a light sleeper.

We stayed here earlier this summer and at first were very happy with our decision. We had some difficulty with some kids from a neighboring site not respecting our camp area, but that was their parents' fault, not the campground's. We loved our site on a dune, and walking to the beach was a great way to spend an afternoon.... More

We camped 2 nights over the past few days and the park was virtually empty. We hand picked out site, so of course we loved it! Most of the sites we saw were very large and very clean. As others mentioned there was plenty of hot water for showers (free). The bathrooms were a decent distance from the site we... More
