What a disappointment. We booked this highly rated B&B back in January. Later we got an email saying the B&B had changed hands and was under new ownership so we emailed the new owners who confirmed they would honour the booking. From the outside the house looked as charming as ever, but inside the rooms are being transformed into dormitories.... More

I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful people that have stayed with us at the inn. I'm glad we could make your visit to or through bishop a nice experience! Your positive comments through the years have been wonderful! I will miss seeing you all, as the bed and breakfast is no longer operating as such,... More

I have stayed at the Chalfant House several times now and will never stay anywhere else while I'm in Bishop. Patty and Lisa are absolutely wonderful and make you feel so welcome. Did I mention the breakfasts are to die for???

On your way to Yosemite North, Bishop Chalfant house was our favorite stay in our 3 weeks road trip! Patty just knows hoe yo welcome guests: rooms are perfectly clean and so cutely decorated, you feel home right away! And it s soooo cosy. We just lived it. The breakfast was also very good, all fresh and enough to hold... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Chalfant House. We were there for 5 nights and stayed in the Pleasant room. This room is on the ground floor and has its own entrance with a patio and chairs. Each night we would sit outside on the patio and enjoy the evening. Patty and Lisa are absolutely delightful... We stayed here for one night en route to Las Vegas and glad we did. The building is fairly old with some interesting history. The decor is dated but suits the historical era of the building. We were able to change our room at the last minute which was convenient. We chose 'Pleasant' which is on the ground floor with... More

I love the Chalfant House and have stayed here numerous times. The house itself is quaint and the proprietors, Patty and Lisa, are such a sweet women. Also, the breakfants are to die for!! I highly recommend this place if staying in Bishop.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay in this B&B, and very happy we did not check in to another impersonal chain hotel. The innkeeper was very generous with travel advice and she prepared a lovely breakfast for us served on quaint china. If we are in the neighbourhood again we certainly would make the detour to stay there again.... More

The Chalfant House was my first experience with a B&B and now I'm hooked. I just returned from my second visit and will continue to stay there the next time I'm in Bishop (if rooms are available). The house itself is quite charming, the bed is comfortable, and the breakfasts 'to die for.' Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This was our fourth visit to Chalfant House, the first in a couple of years. Like an old friend, it's a bit frayed at the edges, but you still grin with pleasure at revisiting. Yeah, it needs some paint on the outside trim, and yeah if you look closely you'll find the occasional bit of wallpaper curling back, but heck,... More
