Normally I would recommend this Motel for One Night behause it's quite clean and simple. But we were here during a plague of beetles. There were not only some beetles, THERE WAS A MASS!!! They got in the room under the door, through all chinks, the lamps. We were not able to stop it. Therefore we spent the Night in... More

We camp a lot and always use the Bristlecone as a jumping off place for further visits to remote areas. Love it there! Would recommend to family, friends and those wanting good value and clean and quality accommodations

This motel is operated by the staff of a next door Mobil gas station and convenience store. In walking distance there are two decent restaurants. The room was clean and looked that it was recently renovated with upgraded fixtures in the bathroom. The room was equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave oven. Internet worked well and was fast.

Luckily, we were able to snag the last room at the Bristlecone. It was nothing spectacular, but the bed was comfy and the shower was amazing. You hardly ever get a good shower in motels. The only think I didn't like was the fridge and the toilet being in the same room. Kinda gross, but I get it. There really... More

The motel is ok. The vaulted ceiling is nice, everything looks clean. However, the beds are too soft, the heater is loud, the curtains don't cover enough window space so the outside blinking lights were in my eyes while trying to sleep. The bathroom definitely needs remodeling. Impossible to get lukewarm water, instead super hot and super cold drops come... More

There isn't much choice of accommodation in Big Pine and prices are higher than further down the road in Lone Pine, but we wanted to visit the Bristlecone Forest in the morning. The motel is a bit dated, but the room was large and very clean, with a coffee maker and fridge. The bed was comfortable, so it had everything... More

We planned to visit the ancient Bristlecones, and Big Pine is the closest place to stay. The motel is older, but well kept and clean. One of the cleaning staff ladies, Renee, was very sweet and offered us a brochure of all the attractions nearby. We were in room 19.. It was small but adequate. The bathroom was large with... More

As a quick and inexpensive overnight on US 395, the Bristlecone was a delight. The staff was extremely personable and helpful. The room was simple, clean, well appointed, and large enough to not feel cramped; I saw no deferred maintenance items anywhere in the room. The bathroom was actually quite spacious with plenty of room for the small fridge, microwave,... More

For a trip from Southern California to Carson City, we decided to plan a stopover about half way through. This motel had decent ratings and the price was good. Fortunately for me, even though I planned this only a week in advance, I was able to book the last room. Unfortunately it was the family room that slept 5. I... More

The staff was quite friendly, the room was comfortable, and the price was reasonable. We enjoyed the 'rustic lodge' type room interior. Ample hot water, fridge, and microwave included. Would definitely stay here again.
