The hotel is a converted mansion with plenty of character and history. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a room with a king bed and a jacuzzi, and was very comfortable. There is a restaurant, pool and sauna outside. The hotel is in a great location with a Walgreens around the corner. more

This is a tacky motel. The restaurant is so tacky looking. Everything feels cheap and threadbare here. Went there during a warm fall weekend and there was no airconditioning in the room. There was a wedding on during our stay and it was noisy and audible in our rooms. Don't stay here more

Room 206, beware!!!! Lovely entrance & lobby, staff helpful. The room was nice size and clean. The view was the outside wall of another part of the building, disappointing. The sheets, were like sandpaper, the bath clean, the towel warmer not truned on. To finally get a room temperature we could sleep with, we turned on the gas fireplace and... more

When we checked in, they put us in a basement room, cold and damp. Tried to turn on the heat, but blowing cold. Called to ask for assistance and the staff was wonderful. Moved us to a room on another floor with working heat. Rooms are quite charming with a gas fireplace in each one. Beds very comfy. The bathroom,... more

We went to Big Bear for a weekend of mountain biking. The hotel looked like a pretty good deal so we went for it. The lobby of the hotel is nice but the rooms look like they haven't been redone in ages. The private patio just looked at the parking lot and had two plastic chairs on it and wasn't... more

The place is really run down. The bathroom door would not lock. The outside window was off its track, so we could not open it. The air conditioner did not work and they kept the hallway temperture so hot that the room was about 80 degrees all night. Next time I'll try another hotel. The hotel's resturant even got a... more

We stayed at the Best Western Chateau over the Presidents Day weekend. The hotel was completely booked. Knowing that it was a holiday weekend, and a Best Western, I had fairly low expectations. I'm quite happy to admit I was wrong. The hotel was lovely. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The service was wonderful. I absolutely loved the... more

I had been looking forward to going up to Big Bear sometime in the winter to play in the snow, having never had the opportunity when I was younger (I was raised in Charleston, SC -- no snow AND no hills!). DH and I decided to take the opportunity in early February. We really only needed one night. I searched... more

We were quoted a price when we made our reservation, then when we checked out, we were very surprised to find, the price per night was about $80 more. The people at the front desk couldn't help us, so we are in talks with corporate office. This hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. We called down to the... more

The "Good", is price and great location. A "Great" entertainer in the Lounge with a cozy fire place ( I believe his name was Bob Baker who had a great selection of music) . The rooms were okay with some stains on the carpets which looked like red wine. When we went out on our "private" patio to take a... more
