My husband and I took our three kids (ages:11, 3, and 4 mos) to Big Bear to get away from the Vegas heat for a weekend. We liked that the Frontier was right next to the lake but the kids were disappointed that it was really swimmable water. The beach is rocky and the water is murky and just seemed... more

We booked one of the lakeside motel rooms when we stayed there in May 2007 with my parents and ejoyed the grounds and friendly service so much that my husband and I returned the following year in May 2008 with our two puppies - because they're Pet Friendly! In '08 we booked a one bedroom lakeview chalet and were very... more

We loved it.

This place is excellent. Very clean. Not too expensive. It's right on the lake and only about 3 blocks from the charming downtown shops and restaurants. more

We stayed for 2 nights in cabin 259. It was a studio with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The cabin was small, but very cozy. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and provided us with every request we had. The location was just a short walk from the village. We really enjoyed our stay and... more

My family and I stayed there for the first time in August for 2 nights. We had wished we had stayed longer, and next trip we plan to. The cabin was nice and the price was right. Next time we go we plan to stay longer and hope to rent 2 cabins side by side and invite more family members... more

We went for the first time last year and we can not wait to get back... This year we are going for a week. We had such a great time. Very nice, clean, friendly, and kind to our dog. We will make it a tradition to go every year with our family. ♥ more

Our experience was with one of the hotel rooms. While it was off season and not many guests, the room was clean and had lots of amenities. Coffee maker, decent size refridgerator, microwave, DVD player, fireplace (yes, you can only use duraflame). But, great pool and jacuzzi area, lots of beachfront with lounge chairs, quiet, yet, close to the village.... more

Just returned from 3 nights in Big Bear and stayed at the Frontier. We had a cabin that was very small but fun. It had a jacuzzi but we only got in it the first night. Very nice fireplace. They only allow Duralogs to be burned so I would suggest you purchase a case of them before you come up... more

As with a previous reviewer we found that the management here seems to feel reservations are just something to change as they seem fit. We too had booked cabin 1 and were told at 3 PM that the room wasn't ready but they just happened to have cabin 11 open. So we were moved from next to the lake to... more

There is a reason why most people who have rated this hotel give it the lowest rating. The management is the reason. Losing reservations, giving away our room to other guests have been some of my problems during previous stays. By the way, I am not surprised to see other reviewers here who have had the exact same problems. I... more
