Easy walk to restaurants, bars, gift shops, arcades and movie theaters. The rooms are quaint and could use some upgrades but the price was low enough that I didn't mind. Nice pool and spa with plenty of seating. Service was spotty. The restaurant service was especially lacking. There is a nice little lounge next to the restaurant. My room was... More

From the moment you step into the Hotel lobby, you get the sensation of a rustic woody lodge in this resort town known for it's winter skiing and summer lake activities. Sleeping rooms are spacious and clean but a bit dated. Most notably, the carpeting. Heavily in use throughout the resort are split pine trees serving a faux beams and... More

The location is ideal--right next to the Village and just as you enter town. The place can definitely stand a huge update. However, my biggest complaint with this place is the lack of customer service that was shown to me in connection with an item that was taken from my room by one of the cleaning staff. I am sure... My first time in Big Bear thanks to Groupon! Got a room with a fireplace for a great deal, plus a $20 breakfast voucher at their restaurant. Room was bigger than I thought with a nice comfy King bed. The only complaint I have is that it got pretty warm at night even with the AC on. It's a very... More

First time staying. Used pictures off of website. Felt it was going to be an "ok" place with our expectations in line. Upon arrival we find is is a very dated "cabin/mountain" motif, worn out carpets, worn out floors, needs lots of paint in all common areas as walls and floor boards are all beat up. Bathroom in room just... More

Check-in time was 4:00 p.m. which I think is too late. Most hotel's check-in time is 3:00 p.m. We arrived at 2:00 p.m. and tried to check-in but the rooms are not ready. We were disappointed! They gave us adjoining rooms which made it convenient for us. The room has a tiny refrigerator and coffee maker but no microwave. They... More

Northwoods hosted the Manx Club meet this year and the ample parking lot was festooned with brightly colored buggies from all over. The rooms were spacious, clean and most adequate. We booked early so got a poolside patio room and one night had a take out Thai picnic on the tables available outside the room. Our only complaint is that... More

the hotel was in a wonderful location for doing things in the Village. rooms were comfortable. the pool was small but good and warm. the jacuzzi was broken but that was ok. the restaurant was dark so we did not eat there. there were many good dining choices nearby. big bear was very crowded with tourists, surprisingly, but it was... This hotel was adorably mountain rustic in a perfect location. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms and beds were comfortable with beautiful mountain views. Loved that the pool was accessible at two ends. I will be coming back to stay.

We decided to go on a weekend getaway from the heat of Las Vegas in the summer. I booked the reservations over the phone and Rachel is who I dealt with and it was a pleasure. She was very busy and had to call me back to confirm the dates, but made me feel like I was the most important... More
