The Avalon isn't for everyone -- it's not super cushy or luxe -- but it's stylish and a great value. I've always liked the Viceroy charm (although I understand it just changed hands after my stay) as well as their bath products. What blew me away was the front desk service. The glass of Prosecco at check in, as well... More

If you like the sound of weights banging around on one side of you in the evening and dance music waking you up on the other side around 6am, ask for room 203. I don't know if they gave us a bad room because we booked through priceline or if the whole hotel is this loud. I've tried to call... More

the hotel's location is great there's restaurants near by and close to rodeo drive although not much to do close by at night. The rooms are not too large and the ac was a little loud. We had dinner next to the pool one night the risotto was delicious and the service was great. The drinks were good too!The staff... More

The Avalon Hotel is rated 4 stars, but the only thing that is 4 stars is their service. The staff is very gracious and attentive and do their jobs very well; but the facility is old, outdated, and showing its age. I thought I had a decent price for the area using Priceline's bidding, but when you add the $37-42.... More

If you are looking for a Californian experience, go for it. Californian deco, good breakfast smoothies, a pool with nice alcoves very conducive for lovers talks and drinks. A piece of advice: take you breakfast in one of the alcoves by the pool. If you are looking for quite stay, ask for a room in the building not adjacent to... More

We arrived very early and had to wait for our room to be cleaned. The staff was pleasant and we sat in the lobby until the room was prepared. The room was across the street and located up a flight of stairs (no elevator). The poor bellman had to carry 4 very large, extremely heavy bags up these stairs to... More

This is a great location just a few blocks (10 min walk) from Wilshire and Rodeo and a 10-20 minute drive from so many great parts of LA. The hotel itself is stylish, but it's the kind of thing that starts showing its age quickly. The bed was not very comfortable. And they charge a $15 "amenity fee", which is... More

This was a top secret hotel booked through Hotwire and excellent value for money. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, close to Rodeo Drive. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. The rooms were large, clean and extremely comfortable. Price: Overpriced even through priceline.com. This place is more like a 2.5 star hotel. Rooms and Grounds: Kitschy as f***. The rooms were also small and there was a half door on the shower, so the bathroom floor got soaked after my husband and I took a shower. Location: Piss poor. There was nothing to do! Then again, what is... More

I recently spent a deligtful five days at the Avalon with my Daughter. This pretty, well located and charming hotel is a real find. Rooms are spacious and clean. A small fridge and a coffee maker would have been great but I believe extra facilities are available on request. Pool is lovely but could be a little warmer😁The restaurant offers... More

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
