We arrived very early and had to wait for our room to be cleaned. The staff was pleasant and we sat in the lobby until the room was prepared. The room was across the street and located up a flight of stairs (no elevator). The poor bellman had to carry 4 very large, extremely heavy bags up these stairs to... More

This is a great location just a few blocks (10 min walk) from Wilshire and Rodeo and a 10-20 minute drive from so many great parts of LA. The hotel itself is stylish, but it's the kind of thing that starts showing its age quickly. The bed was not very comfortable. And they charge a $15 "amenity fee", which is... More

This was a top secret hotel booked through Hotwire and excellent value for money. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, close to Rodeo Drive. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. The rooms were large, clean and extremely comfortable. Although the hotel lacks some features typical of a boutique hotel, I can't fault the... More

Price: Overpriced even through priceline.com. This place is more like a 2.5 star hotel. Rooms and Grounds: Kitschy as f***. The rooms were also small and there was a half door on the shower, so the bathroom floor got soaked after my husband and I took a shower. Location: Piss poor. There was nothing to do! Then again, what is... More

I recently spent a deligtful five days at the Avalon with my Daughter. This pretty, well located and charming hotel is a real find. Rooms are spacious and clean. A small fridge and a coffee maker would have been great but I believe extra facilities are available on request. Pool is lovely but could be a little warmer😁The restaurant offers... More

This is a lovely hotel. The service is outstanding, the food at the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) were fantastic. We asked for a room in the main building over looking the pool and got one on the second floor. It was fantastic. Only two gripes - we heard everything in the room above us when the occupants moved around their... More

Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills this was the first stop in a month long family holiday. Picked up the rental car from LAX and straight to the Avalon for a rest. That trip from Oz never gets any easier. On arrival, this place was brilliant. Staff (who were dealing with check outs and a big Sunday luncheon crowd could not have... More

At the first few moment the hotel looks pretty good, boutique, something special. But after a while you realize the details: The furniture is style but used, scratched and sometime broken. No fridge in the room. The windows are not isolated, that means cold/warm hair comes in as as well the noise from the out side, gardeners blower, street noise... More

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy staying at the Avalon and each time it gets better and better. We stayed there two weeks ago. Stayed overnight here and found the area to be very nice - safe and easy to walk into Beverly Hills and very easy getting to and from LAX. The retro feel of the hotel is great, our room was very quiet (main building) and the beds very comfortable. As others have noted the bathrooms are not the best feature of... More

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
