The resort was beautiful! The grounds were well manicured. Many historic photos in the lobby and halls to look at. The hotel room was well decorated but cramped. Bathroom was decent size and modern. Hotel room was clean except for an unfortunate spider crawling on the wall. Front desk staff was not friendly. In fact, one of them seemed put... more

I stayed here a decade ago and liked the location and views. I the past few years the hotel has been fully and beautifully renovated. The bathrooms are modern and the rooms large and updated. The one down side is the lack of views for the guests in the main floor area without going outside or in a banquet room.... more

Our first time staying at the Claremont (we have lived in the Bay Area all our lives) and it lived up to everything we've heard about it. Great hotel, lots of history. Pool was amazing, room was huge, clean, and comfortable. I would have to say the only negative was the food at Paragon, not great for the price, but... more

Stayed here on a business trip, my 3rd or 4th time at the hotel. Service in the evening (room/housekeeping) was prompt. But in the morning I could not get room service to pick up the phone. My bed was very comfy and the room was quiet. However the free internet was spotty and I only got service occasionally, be it... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in May because we were moving and had no furniture at our house. We saved about $80 per night by booking on Hotels.com. The "resort fees" and the parking fees are ridiculous. The service we received was excellent. We had a room with a "bay view". The windows were really small... more

The Claremont is a great hotel despite the reviews. Room was clean, updated, big, with a great view. The Paragon patio for drinks and appetizers is perfect spot with a great view of SF and the Golden Gate. The pool and resort have to be the best in the Bay Area. The Claremont is not the cheapest resort and you... more

For the past several years we have stayed regularly at The Claremont when in the East Bay for business. Staff is very friendly and helpful.. The common areas of the hotel are beautiful. The Spa is great but pricey. We always get a bay view room with two beds; the rooms are consistently quite small. I was excited when we... more

went to Berkeley for our granddaughter's graduation from Cal Berkeley. Beautiful old hotel with many rooms remodeled. Our first room was very noisy as they were remodeling on the floor above so they changed us to a room in the spa level. It was lovely. Be sure not to get a room near the remodeling as it is very noisy... more

$229 for the smallest hotel room I have EVER stayed in + $24 resort fee + $24 parking fee = a waste of your money. Not only was the room tiny, but it was incredibly musty and had a view of the roof of another part of the hotel. Sadly, our room was supposedly not the most modest one; there... more

We recently stayed at the Claremont Resort for one night. I thought I got a good deal (approximately 50% off the listed rate) through Priceline, but it turned out not to be the case. From the outside, the resort looks impressive, but once you stepped into the room, it was quire disappointing. The quality of the room is at about... more
