Stayed with my wife and our two young sons for three nights. Location in the bay area is great in terms of being central to the Berkeley area, with easy access to San Francisco and Marin. However, the stay started badly with a long check-in line, and got worse. The hotel obviously caters to many college sports teams, and kids... more

We liked the location and the park (but what's with all those ground squirrels?) and the room was very comfortable, modern and quiet. They needed a bit of maintenance in the bath room - missing back of door hook and loose tub faucet - but very minor. Comfortable bed. We were on the ground floor and something was going on... more

I read prior reviews and thus new to request a quiet room, far from the "chime". Fortunately there was no fog when I was there, and hence no chime. My room was on the top floor of bldg 4, facing the parking lot. It was incredibly quiet and also fairly well updated with a comfy bed. I needed a spare... more

I came here for a conference and was given a room overlooking the beautiful marina. There is a nice little walking path around the marina and a small park adjacent. You can walk over to the the 3000 ft pier where people are fishing. There's also a very nice seafood restaurant (Skates) with good food and fabulous views of water... more

Paid $89n for a great room overlooking marina. Small bathroom but well worth price. Received gratis buffet bfasts, so very happy with all. Believe rooms go for $140-180 during busy times which is the norm in Berkeley, it is also miles from campus which can be a +/- . more

After getting this hotel via Priceline ($65/night) and reading the comments here I was a little bit nervous. But I was pleasantly surprised. We were in the second floor of building 3. The room was large, clean, quiet, and comfortable, the grounds and indoor pools were immaculate, and the staff very attentive. I didn't find the alleys gross or scary.... more

I have stayed here off and on over the last several months and it is rapidly becoming my favorite destination. Awesome location, attentive staff, convenient business services and a nice restaurant make the Doubletree Berkeley a tough package to beat. It is easy to get to, easy to park at and easy to get back on the freeway to get... more

Upon arriving at 4pm the room wasn't ready. We were promised a top floor marina view room and chose to wait for it to be cleaned. We ended up with a room on the 2nd level. The key didn't work in the building entrance door nor our room. We called the desk and was told that the hotel was very... more

Same price than other hotels in Berkeley (during our stay) but this one had a pool and had a beautiful view on the marina. Everything was clean, nice grounds, excellent breakfast. more

I stayed for 3 days in gray, rainy weather but was happy to make this hotel my base. Room was clean, staff was professional, dining room food was ok (pricey for the quality), lounge was comfy with a great view of the marina, and I never once heard the dreaded harbor chime or an elevator, though my room was just... more
