This hotel has some good, but also bad features. Depending on what is important to you, this could be a great deal. The main feature of this hotel is the low relative price for the area. But there were a few problems. The WiFi worked intermittently and slowly, so kept getting knocked off of it. Don't think you could count... More

This is now my go-to hotel in the East Bay. Why? It's a few short blocks to many East Bay bus routes, BART, and all of downtown Berkeley's delicious restaurants. And because the DBI has free off-street parking, I can safely leave my car while I do my thing. And it's only a hundred bucks a night! For me, those... More

Good location, near the Berkeley public library and Shattuck avenue with many restaurants and the campus within walking distance. Limited off street parking, though overnight is free on the street. The renovated room was adequate, with a large television and individual room AC units. The wifi was a bit wonky, and the door would not allow engagement of the deadbolt.... More

Stayed here during a Cal event. Very convenient (uphill) walk to campus, and it's about the most affordable hotel near the south side of campus. Check-in was friendly, but the room we had was pretty shabby with lots of scuff marks on the wall, etc. Never got the wifi (free) to work reliably. Worst part was getting a first floor... More

Average hotel close to the university, BART, various restaurants. A little from the main streets, but still quite a lot of noise in the morning. Quick check-in, check-out. Definitely not a boutique hotel, but OK to stay on a business trip for a few nights. Bathroom was spacious, with a tub.

We booked this Motel because: It was downtown Berkeley and close to BART. Very close to the U. of California campus. Easy walk up the hill to Memorial Stadium (we were going to a football game). Easy walk to some restaurants having gluten free and vegan menu items. Some Free parking (first come, first serve - we lucked out, but... More

Hotel is accessible to public transport, few mins walk from BART. We arrived in the morning but couldnt get the room since its not ready. The room was spacious, bed comfy. Not much complain. I got my refund back a few days after (i cancelled the 2nd night).

Plain basic hotel (really a motel). Website pictures do not show that doors open to a courtyard accessible to anyone - not cool for a woman traveling alone. Room was basic-not one amenity. I almost broke my leg on the much advertised 'platform bed'. They don't tell you there is barely any room between the bed and the wall-so I... More

Make no mistake, this place is probably not what people think of when reading a description of "boutique hotel" - it IS a very simple hotel with very few amenities, but it is a clean and pleasant (basically quiet) place to stay. The location is extremely ideal and convenient - close to BART and the UC Berkeley campus (both just... More

I stayed at this inn 4 nights, Monday to Friday, as I was in Berkeley for a week-long conference. It's pretty much a motel, since every room has its own entrance which gives on the parking lot, freely accessible from the street. The inn is located one block from Shattuck, which is one of the main streets in Berkeley with... More
