My friend and I went to Berkeley and after having a lot of fun, decided to stay an extra day. Instead of paying $170 a night where we were staying at a 4 star boutique hotel, we felt that since we would be in the room for three hours as we were leaving extremely early in the morning, it would... more

This is a good hotel for the price. It's located away from the bustle of Downtown Berkeley but within walking distance (.8 mi) of North Berkeley Bart and thus close to the action. Settled in a fun multiethnic neighborhood, there are fantastic restaurants right outside the door: it's next to a building whose entire lot, including spacious patio, has been... more

-5 min drive to Berkeley University -stayed 2 nights -relatively quiet for the area it is located in -came with fridge and microwave -had wi-fi access -good value for the price compared to other places around -king bed was soft but room was ok for space for 2 people -no elevator but there are only 3 floors -no breakfast included... more

The small room was below average. The bed was uncomfortable and squeeky, the shower was small and didn't have a tub, and there was a plastic card table being used for the desk. The hotel staff was extremely rude from check-in all the way through our forced check-out. The morning of our check-out, while I was in the shower and... more

I have no complaints about this hotel. I have stayed here about ten nights. It is ten minutes to walk to the North Berkeley BART station; ten minutes to walk to the Berkeley Amtrak station; the #19 bus to the Emeryville Amtrak station is only three blocks away. The #51 bus to the UC Berkeley campus is also only three... more

This was the most horrible place I have ever stayed. The manager was RUDE and the customer service was non existant. I will never stay there again and will advise anyone who asks to do the same. more

Overall my stay was decent. The hotel is very basic. I was on the top/third floor. There is no access to the 2nd and 3rd floors for handicapped persons. The room consists of a bed, a tv, a small dresser (3 drawers) with chipped paint, a small nightstand/shelf, that is too wide to fit between the wall and the bed... more

We were travelling through Berkeley on our way to Stanford. My son and I were doing a colleges tour of the west coast, and decided to spend the night in Berkeley to see the university. We found a coupon for this hotel in the roadside booklet. The Indian woman at the front desk was in a cage like space. She... more

I stayed at the Berkeley Budget Inn, when I first moved to Berkeley. I negotiated an extended rate with the manager. The terms are negotiable. My experience there was horrible. The room likened the interior of a YMCA. No ice machine at the hotel. Minimal secuirty.. Located in a bad part of town. I relocated to the Golden Bear and... more

It is too bad that Orbitz would recommend anyone to the Berkeley Budget Inn on San Pablo Ave. It was an unsatisfactory spot to stay in much less recommend through the internet. It was small, in a not so very nice neighborhood and very unacceptable. more
