Visited mid January for the Morro Bay Annual Birding Festival. The area provided many diverse birding areas from beaches, state parks, woodlands and estuaries. We developed our own self guided birding tour by researching birds of Morro Bay online rather than sign up for the guided field trips offered by the Festival. With detailed itinerary of 30 birding locations around... More

We were lucky enough to stay at the Back Bay Inn for four nights in February. We were pleased that we'd chosen to spend a little more money to stay in room 208, which is actually much prettier than the photo on the website. The room is not only very attractive, but is also comfortable, nicely furnished, private, and spacious... More

We stayed at Back Bay during our roadtrip from LA to SF. Beautiful, cozy little inn on the south bay of Morro Bay with great views. Concierge was very welcoming and check in was quick. Room itself was nothing special but the view of the bay was excellent. Lots of little places to sit and relax and take in the... More

We have stayed in room 208 ( also known as Room 8) several times over the years, as have some friends. The property is well maintained, quiet, and rooms 208 and 209 have small but useful balconies where a sunset can be enjoyed. The tidal swing in the south bay of Morro Bay is also a part of this room's... More

Thank you so much for being such loyal guests! We don't get too many comments about the tidal fluctuations, but there is not much more relaxing than taking the time to just relax and watch the water come in & out of the bay. It takes a while, but worth taking a pause on a busy lifestyle to relax and... More

For a beautiful location and a friendly inn, you cannot beat the Back Bay Inn. Wonderful views, sunsets, and natural beauty in the area. The inn is affiliated with and adjacent to a great little coffee/breakfast spot that serves as a meeting spot for the locals. For the price and ambiance, the Back Bay Inn offers solace on the central... More

I can't say enough about this place. So wonderful. My new favorite place. We only live a few miles from there. It seems like we are on a wonderful vacation. The breakfast is amazing. Amazing friendly staff. Couldn't ask for a better staycation.

We have stayed here a number of times, and always enjoy stopping at this quiet B&B on the edge of Morro Bay. Don't expect a lot of night life, but there are a number of outdoor opportunities - hiking, kayaking on the bay, or just walking around the quaint village of Baywood Park. Birding is particularly good in the area... More

Beautiful location and nice extras. Wine/snacks reception and coffee in the morning. Breakfast included at cute restaurant right next door. Nice gardens, and peaceful location. Our room, 306, included a kitchenette. Price was very good too! I'd highly recommend! Staff is great!

We stayed here after driving up from LA. We had had a long flight so the peace and lovely location was perfect. The room was lovely and the view of the bay was gorgeous. We are from the Midwest and took several days driving down from San Francisco down Highway 1 to Santa Barbara to do a bike trip, earlier this month. My husband, who never does any of the trip planning, found this place through his research. I thought he hated B and Bs. This is more the vibe of a boutique hotel.... More
