I don't know how anyone could recommend the Pines Resort to even their worst enemy. I paid over $350.00 for one night at this dump. I feel I was robbed. The carpet was stained and dirty. The upstairs loft had only dirty carpet in it, there wasn't a dishwasher. The air-conditioning was a total joke, there was an outdated wall... more

.We arrived on a Sunday, before Mermorial Day weekend, about 3:30PM, I do recall the web site stating "4PM" check-in for the Suites and 5PM for Chalets. We did try to check-in, but were told our room was not ready. I had made a request for an upstairs room, but they were not available. That turned out to be a... more

The Pines is a really fantastic base for exploring this area. I was there to visit family, but it is also close to Yosemite and is a step up from most of the area hotels, short of staying at a fancy resort. It's not fancy, but the chalets are nice, homey, clean and spacious. They have full kitchens, and lofts which... more

Australia has lots of magnificent scenery but the Bass Lake area is absolutley breathtaking! Stumbled across the website while planning a family vacation and knew we just had to visit! Stayed in a chalet and from the moment we opened the blinds we fell in love with the place! After spending an exhilarating yet exhausting two weeks visiting all the... more

I need to preface this by saying we usually stay at high end hotels, but we wanted to visit Yosemite and liked what we read about Bass Lake (just 14 miles South of Yosemite). I knew this wasn't going to be a Ritz-Carlton...but in terms of its location, it was better! The position of this place is quite simply sublime.... more

For some serious fun on Bass Lake, fishing, boating (we rented a large but speedy Patio boat for 2 hours that also came a gas barbeque!), and swimming, I would recommend the Pines Resort simply because the old adage, it's all about location: our suite (#13) overlooked the lake. Unfortunately, I couldn't help but notice that the resort is starting... more

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Pines Resort from March 17 through the 20th, 2008. Great time to go because it was quiet , not crowded, and the weather was mild--low to mid 60's during the day and high 30's in the morning. It was too cool to use the swimming pool or swim in the lake,... more

We just got home from Bass Lake and we had a great stay in the Pines Resort Chalet's. The cute cabin set up is really homey and was very comfortable. The place was clean and everything was great. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, eating and cleaning if you are staying awhile. The beds were comfy, the sofa bed was... more

We arrived at the Pines suite without advanced notice. We booked a lake front suite. We used the nice pool and appreciated the lake front location. We ate on the upper level of Ducey's bar and grill. The food and service was good but, the tables felt sticky/dirty. We loved our room but, the area under the bed was filthy... more

We stayed at the Pines Resort for a family reunion. On the plus side, the catered dinners were pretty good for our large group. On the other hand, however, the service was absolutely terrible right from the start. We called the night before and asked if it would be possible to check in early, and we were reassured that it... more
