My travel department has been cruel to me - I have been on a Doubletree hotel marathon throughout the country and if you're a Doubletree/Blackstone employee - there are some good pointers here for you. Steve Schwarzman - you paid top dollar for Hilton and DT - you may want to fix a few things in order to maximize your... more

This hotel definately has its faults. There is a club and lounge on site and expect a lot of noise if your room faces the courtyard (half of them do). Also, if you want to use the buisness center you have to PAY FOR IT!!! Don't worry..the credit card swiper on the printer/fax/keyboard/computer will help remind you. Its about 5... more

My wife and I were traveling through the areaI on vacation and won a bid for this hotel on Priceline...very pleasantly surprised! The hotel staff were extremely helpful, offering suggestions on where to eat, etc. There was free parking, free internet in the public areas and nice grounds. The room, and the hotel in general, was clean and at least... more

We stay at this hotel when we travel by car back and forth to Southern California from our home in Northern Cal. The hotel staff are very accommodating. The rooms are comfortable enough and mostly very clean. We were upgraded to the family suite once and the carpet definitely needed cleaning. The pool is not heated. The restaurant is good... more

I have been at this hotel many in fact I frequent this place for years as I do business in Bakersfield each month from Los Angeles. It just so happens I was traveling with a colleague from Ohio and I bragged about this hotel because it was not bad for a hotel in Bakersfield. Not a minute too short after... more

My wife and I stayed at the Doubletree last night on on way to Southern Calif. from north state. First of all I did get our room through Priceline so we got a great rate. After reading some of the past couple of reviews on TA we weren't expecting the greatest hotel stay but we were extremely happy with our... more

This old Doubletree hotel that has a lot of deferred maintenance. Noisy rooms, a/c didn’t work, housekeeping was poor, paint peeling off the doors. There are many other hotels in the area that are less expensive and better. Next time I'll try somewhere else. more

Not the Doubletree I'm used to. I attended a conference with some 120 people and some of us ended up with stomach flu. The hotel served us dinner on the first day and breakfast on the second day. Cleanliness is not a strong suit at this hotel. My bathroom wasn't even pristine when I first used it. There were short... more

This hotel bills itself as the best in Bakersfield. If this is true, I'd hate to see the ones that were really bad. The hotel is at best average. The interior is drab, the rooms are drab, the carpets are drab, the furniture is drab, the bathrooms are drab, and their entire theme seems to be "drab." Having said that,... more

I booked my room through Hotwire for $65 per night. Flew into LAX from Honolulu on Sunday 06/08 and wanted to be out and away from LA by Monday morning. We picked up my car and drove 2 hours to Bakersfield on our way back to Reno. Upon arrival at the Doubletree the place seemed spacious and spread out. The... more
