We stayed in this hotel for a week in October. My husband was on business and I just tagged along. The most disturbing thing that happened was that my husband got stuck in the elevator for 5 hours. They did not even comp his stay but instead offered him an upgrade, which we should have originally received anyway since we... more

Coming in from TKY to LAX, planned an overnighter in Bakersfield to break our trip to SFO. We are Platinum PC members & used points to book this hotel. Hotel was being re branded to Marriott so lots of work was being done in the hotel. Upon a seamless check in, our room was automatically upgraded to a 2 QN... more

I stayed four nights and not once was disappointed. I actually booked a week long stay at the Bestwestern across the street, but after one night decided to move (older hotel in need of renovation). The Holiday Inn Select was ten times better. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating (no trouble booking a room on short notice). The... more

Spent one night at the Holiday Inn Select Bakersfield and it was a dump! The desk clerks were not friendly and couldn't help us when asked questions. ALL soda machines were sold out or out of order. We arrived late in the evening and couldn't get anything to drink. Also, we went to every floor to check the machines and... more

First I must say that because I am a Priority Club member we were upgraded to the executive floor. Our room was spacious, smart and very comfortable. When we arrived the reception was exceptionally helpful and efficient. There is a free car park behind the hotel. Very importantly there is a decent restaurant in the hotel - previous experiences of... more

We stayed for one night last week. We thought the room was comfortable and quite roomy. However, be sure to request a room on the street side and not facing the parking lot. The trains behind the parking lot pass by frequently and blow their horns several times as they go by. For light sleepers, it is almost impossible to... more

On our way to Palm Springs from San Jose, we wanted to find a hotel to stop at that was about half way. I looked at rates through expedia and then read the reviews on Trip advisor. It looked ok, so I booked the room. Upon arrival, we were greated by a very pleasant desk staff. They answered our questions,... more

I stayed here for three nights. My room was awful. The wallpaper literally was stapeled to the wall in the bathroom! The coffee maker didn't work, My keycard didn't work, and I never got my wake up call. However, I complained and they comped me dinner and breakfast. While I waited in the lobby for yet another key to my... more

After a stay at Howard Johnson's, this hotel was like heaven! We received this hotel on a "winning "Priceline bid of $50. All the other 3 star hotels were booked for All State wrestling championships & also race car events during the weekend. Our Saturday night room was very large, clean and had all the amenities we needed. It also... more

After staying here during the 4th of July, I am glad I only paid $38/night through Hotwire -this is one of its 3-star hotels. The place looks nice at first- its the only hotel that is located in downtown (while all the others are off highway 99). However, staff for the most part is unprofessional -the staff acted more like... more
