We didn't want to spend too much on our one-night visit to Bakersfield, so we decided to stay here after reading Tripadvisor reviews. We were pleased with our choice. It is nothing fancy, but clean, with friendly, helpful staff.

At the time I reserved it was in the top 5. I can confirm the several recent bad reviews. Noisy, unsavory characters lurking, incomprehensible man at the desk, non-smoking room smelled of smoke as did internal corridors. I will never stay again.
