rooms very clean and comfortable, beds couldn't be better. A little noisy on Friday Night, food very good, reasonable price. Interesting old hotel completely remodeled. This hotel was once thought to be haunted. Has a couple of popular bar-nightclubs downstairs, crowded on weekends,

This did not feel like Bakersfield. The Padre hotel would be at home in it's design, service, and quality alongside the boutique hotels on Chicago or Seattle. The staff here is what really made the experience for us. Everyone we encountered was the perfect balance of professional and friendly. Marco, the valet, directed us to a local spot for drinks,... We got an outstanding rate for just one night, as we were on the road to Las Vegas. the Padre is an outstanding hotel, totally top notch, from check in to check out. The 40 winks room was perfectly fine, (a little small), however very cozy and a very comfortable bed with high end sheets, comforter and down pillows. It... More

We drive frequently down highway 5 in California and have been unable until now to find a great place to stay. The Padre hotel in Bakersfield is by far the best spot to stay. It's in a fun downtown area and was entirely remodeled in 2010. It has a great restaurant and fun bar scene. We upgraded to a head... More

This was the second stay I had the extreme pleasure to experience. The staff is professional and accommodating. The atmosphere is elegant and modern, yet very relaxed. The room is spacious with great views from the large windows and a delightful bed that cuddles you in softness and comfort This hotel is the perfect place to have a romantic adventure with... We stayed here because of the "haunted" rumors. Didn't notice any ghosts but truly enjoyed the modern boutique hotel. Even the food at the restaurant is very good. The room is small, and the bathroom lighting is too little but the bed is extremely comfortable. Just know that they will charge you $10 for parking. Overall, it's good value. Stay... More

I spent two nights here in a nice room with large windows. The bed was as good as Sheraton or Westin. The black shower wasn't one of my favorite aspects of the room but the property as a hole is quite nice - hip but not TOO hip if you know what I mean. The food at the restaurants was... More

I am very impressed with the Padre. It's got a cool history and the taste level of the designers is on point. Service was also good. The rooftop patio is cool. It's just well above the expectation you'd have for this locale. Sort of a more rusticated version of the Standard. A lot of fun.
