Will never stay here again. We visited Sept 2014 and the bar on the first floor sounded fun but kept us up all night. Bad idea putting a nightclub with a bar patio next to sleeping rooms! Really? We were on the 6th floor and it sounded like it was 1 floor down. Very disappointed that we got a hotel... More

Loved the Padre Hotel. Numerous restaurants and Clubs that were hopping when I was their. I was in an unusual room, where if you are taking a shower, you can be seen taking that shower in the bedroom area. It was called their "intimate room". Why I was in it, i'm not sure since I was by myself and could... More

I have stayed in this hotel twice now with a large group of friends staying here too. We all have had nothing put extremely positive experiences. The rooms and overall hotel decor are super stylish! Everything was clean and well taken care of. The bar downstairs had great food and nice ambience. At night it becomes a party but you... More

I really wasn't sure Bakersfield needed a boutique hotel but I am sure glad the Padre is there. Overall, it's very nicely decorated, the staff is excellent from the valet attendants to the front desk to the restaurant staff. The food is excellent, too. But my favorite part of the stay was my room, one of the Head Honcho suites.... More

Beautifully decorated hotel and rooms. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food and wine at the Belvedere Room was wonderful. Located in a nice little area of downtown Bakersfield. We had a great time - would definitely stay again.

Booked a room a month ahead to attend a function. I arrived Friday at 1pm, this would be to early in some hotels but not the Padre. Checked my car at the curb and went in. Time spent at check in was less the 5 minutes. Room was 610 overlooking the front street. The room was great and loved the... More

I love everything about it. The history, the humor and the incredible decor. How can you not love a hotel whose history includes having a rocket ship on the roof for decades. Whose rooms are huge, bathrooms chic and voluptuous and staff go beyond no matter the need or question. And are so reasonably price, you feel like an insider.... More

The Padre is such an outstanding hotel, it may singlehandedly drag worn, weary Bakersfield out of its long decline. It's tempting to call this a "boutique" hotel, but even in its vibrant, avant garde current form, the 86-year-old Padre represents what important downtown hotels used to be: hubs of activity, comfortable places to spend the night, and statements of civic... This was our third visit to the Padre. Bakersfield is (frankly) not much of a tourist destination, but it's a good stopover to and from the SF Bay area. As with the first two times, we had an excellent experience. We chose a Head Honcho room, a mini-suite with a king bed. Nothing much new to report: same great friendly... More

This is the place to stay when visiting Bakersfield. The staff in the hotel were some of the most courteous personnel I have ever encountered. The chef was accommodating and allowed eating from the restaurant menu in the bar area. Emily took care of the table for our party, she assisted working with the chef. She also was able to... More
