We stopped here overnight and we were very pleasantly surprised!! it had a Great feel and great style of the old hotel with its décor and café and eating area. The rooms had been done up and were groovy and modern. I had only one problem with and that was with the bed!! It had like a memory foam mattress... More

Room was gorgeous. Ate dinner at the bar reasonably priced and comfortable atmosphere. Seems like a local watering hole. Downtown location a little seedy but close to great antique shops. Had slow service for breakfast in the cafe, but had a tasty healthy omelet.

I travel a great deal for work and of all the properties I stay, The Padre is easily in the top three in the state. Rooms are more than comfortable and good for working or relaxing. The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The bar is a great spot for unwinding and the restaurant, The Belvedere, rivals the best in... More

We stayed one night as a stopover on way to Arizona. Very comfy bed, as advertised for "40 winks" room. Nice shower; my husband thought it was odd that it has two completely glass walls, which means it is open to bedroom/windows. I liked it because it lets in lots of light and is semi-private if you keep the sheer... More

We stayed here for one night on our way from SF to LA, we didn't want to make that trip in a 1-day drive, as we would have gotten to LA late. This was a good choice. We had a good night's sleep, and arrived in to LA before noon to visit museums. The Padre is far from the highway,... More

I visit Bakersfield on occassion for work. I am a medical technician that runs equipment in the operating room at multiple hospitals in the vicinity. Ive always had exceptional service with all the staff at The Padre Hotel; whether it be the bartenders or servers, front desk staff, security and housekeepers! They all really take care of you and are... More

I travel extensively on business throughout the western USA. My expectations for finding a decent hotel in Bakersfield were low. My hotel stays during multiple previous trips to Bakersfield were at chain 'suite' hotels and not pleasant. The Padre Hotel is a surprising exception to the region with unique rooms, decor and dining/drinking options. Most surprising of all was the... More

My husband an I stayed 1 night at the Padre Hotel, but wish it was for longer. The room was big and very well decorated it was also quiet. We ate in the bar downstairs, it wasn't amazing but . good value for money. A great place to stay.

I really enjoyed the bed and shower in this room. It exceeded my expectations. I was very satisfied with the staff and accommodations. The neighborhood was a bit iffy and there was no breakfast offered but there was WiFi.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Padre Hotel for two nights for business at one of the local hospitals. The Padre is a beautiful, old hotel that oozes style and comfort from the moment you walk in. There are several dining (and drinking) options onsite, including a sports bar/lounge-type spot outdoors on the upstairs patio (they also do... More
