It was Consumer Electronics Week in Vegas, which I wasn't attending, which meant I couldn't use my Harrah's points for a free room. The Paris Hotel wanted $350 for a Thursday night. Worse, Stateline's Whisky Pete's wanted $130 and I was just to Baker at 11:00. I decided to stay in the only open hotel in Baker, Wills Fargo Motel,... More

Yes, unless you want to travel further this is it. But, it is a clean environment, rooms are clean. I actually liked having only one picture in the wall, it blends into wall barely visible. Our room therefore was actually very quieting, non crowding. Slept very well. Took a dip in pool. Water clean, very refreshing. Owner had some coffee... More

After reading some of the reviews, we were a bit trepidatious pulling into the parking lot after a long day. It was the only show in town and we didn't want to drive on to Barstow. The manager had a sense of humor. After clearing that we were non smokers and had no pets, he told us we qualified. He... More

I arrived at 1:00 AM with my 14 year old son after leaving Ketchum ID at 10:30 AM, Wednesday August 12th/13th 2015. I took my kid on a tour of downtown Las Vegas on the way just for kicks. We also stopped at the Moapa Piute Travel center before LV and lit off some fireworks, another interesting experience. Back to... More

As this is the only hotel/motel in Baker (in between Las Vegas, Primm and Barstow) you are a captured overnight guest. Anyone staying here is because 1) their car broke down or 2) exhausted and forced to stop. With that said anyone staying here is forced to pay whatever the rate is at that time: at this time it is... The managers, a young couple are adamant about keeping the place clean and cool. My car broke down and I needed a place to stay. This was the only place open and although it is a bit of a worn place, they keep it clean, cool (it reached 117 outside/ 70 inside!) and above all 'critter free'. They walls were... More

The Wills Fargo employees I interacted with, seemed like nice enough folks. It's run by a poor immigrant family, just struggling to make a living. Perhaps a bit over their head running a very busy roadside motel- in the heart of the Mojave Desert. If you open the sliding glass bathroom window- you can see accross a patch of wasteland;... More

I hadn't planned on stopping in Baker, but do to a wrong turn and night approaching I gave it a try. There is no choice, it is the only accommodation in Baker and don't they know it. Rooms are rundown, heating is crappy, furnishings old, some light fixtures didn't have shades. Signs said hot water takes time, be patient. I... More

We asked for a room in the back and we got it! Nice and quiet. It is just across the street from the world's largest thermometer and Bun Boy (both out of commission). We got a good night's sleep there after a long, hot drive.

We booked in to Wills Fargo with some trepidation given the broken down state of the place, but there was other option in Baker so we summoned our courage and took the plunge. What a gem of a place. Comfortable bed, quiet, plenty of hot water, good AC, safe, cheap and friendly staff. sure the furniture and decor was pretty... More
