We stayed stayed at the Palm Hotel a few hours before we left to visit the Jien Crater. The room was very small, it hardly fit our luggage. The bathroom was dirty and there was only one small towel in a double room. We had to use earplugs as the rooms are not sound-proved at all. Please be aware the... More

We traveled by train from Yogya via Surabaya and Jember on our way to Ijen and having read the terrible reviews about the accommodation at the Arabica and Catimore closer to the mountain we decided to stay in Bondowoso. The alternative hotel (the Ijen View) was full, so we settled on the Palm Hotel. The bus from Jember passed within... More

The hotel welcomes you with an elegant appearance - a nice hall and good room services. But, after a bit, you discover it is old and worn out, with very little maintenance and it disappoints you a bit. The dinner is absolutely one of the worst we had - something similar to a very basic canteen. It is ok if... More

The hotel was certainly very average and the worst we have stayed in for the same price in Indonesia to date. But our main concern was the driver they arranged for us to get to Ijen. We were offered the opportunity to share a driver with another couple and split the cost so when we went back to book, we... More

Very mixed impression of this place. Our room was massive (Rose room), like a small flat. Clean and comfortable enough. There is a fantastic, large and clean pool. Prices are very reasonable; there is a nice bar area to relax, but there is absolutely no atmosphere. Despite the warm temperature, the hotel feels very cold and impersonal. The restaurant is... The hotel has nice variety of rooms with good value. It also has a huge pool and the food was awesome. The hotel is located very well in the town, which is a small one, so everything is within reach. Actually, I stayed here at the end of the world: 21 Dec 2012. I saw a picture of the previous... More

I have to say, we absolutely loved our stay here! There are a lot of average reviews on here, but in a year of travelling I have really fond memories of this hotel as an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Java. We stayed here for just 2 nights and could happily have had a 3rd day... More

We stayed here on our road trip from West Java to Bali. Having slept in the car or couch surfing all the way, we decided to have a little break. Using lonely planet we tried to find the cheapest hotels on their list and came accross really ugly, old, or just plain disgusting properties with price not really as cheap... More

The standard room I stayed in was quite clean, with AC and cold/hot water in the shower. However, it was a bit old and poorly maintained. Breakfast was NOT buffet, it consisted of meal (fried rice or rice with chicken soup), hot drink (tea or coffee) and water. Please note, the hot drink was sweet. Make sure you tell the... More

The hotel rooms are too small for that prices, but since not so many better option in Bondowoso, we stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms look need renovation in many things, and many ants also in the room. We booked the transport to Ijen from the hotel for 600k rupiah, and it's normal price, it's just we got the... More
