Except for the noise of the street in the room, very good hostel, clean and comfortable, nice and cheap breakfeast, cosy TV room, tables and chairs to eat/write/relax, very helpful and friendly staff. Very well located, between the bus terminal and the city main square (both at a few blocks walking). They organise a great tour to Coconuco hostsprings coming... More

My private room was OK, but there are definiteley not enough showers and bathrooms when the hostel is full, which was the case during Semana Santa. But generally the hostel was good, we cannot expect luxory if we pay budget. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included but you can order it at extra cost. The... More

Because the Caracol hostel from the same owner was fully booked, we ended up in Hosteltrail. The place was clean, but a bit noisy and the was just one shower including toilet at the floor. The hostel is centrally located and quiet close to the busterminal. Compared to the Coracol, wich counts the same price for a room, the Coracol... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in a private room. Decent sized room, but noisy, bathroom a little small. Shower was only warm if it was almost turned off, so you only got a trickle. On the plus side, it's the first hostel we stayed at in SA that gave us decent info - a map with recommended restaurants and... More

We spent there two nights in december 2013.The hotel is located halfway between bus terminal with Exito megastore (cca 500 m) and the main plaza. The building is not nice, locazed on the corner of busy street, but street noise dont disturbed our sleep, the room (/double with private bathroom for 65000 COP) was big enough with big cupboard,OK bathroom with good hot-water electric... You have to hand it to Tony and Kim, the owners of the HostelTrail guesthouse, they started this business back when Colombian and Popayan were unfashionable destinations. Now, several years later they are still spearheading this travel related revolution in offering affordable and clean accommodation with an emphasis on service and information. Whether your trip is from Ecuador north in... More

We went there on a recommendation from another hostel in Pasto, being promised it is similar prices but it sure wasn't. When we arrived we were soaking wet and the girl at reception thought we were desperate enough to believe her lies about only having one room left with a private toilet and it costs 55,000 pesos! But we weren't... More

Hostel is conveniently located (15 minutes to the center and 10 minutes to the bus terminal). At nights it’s very quite. I stayed at dorm (8 beds). Clean, nice place. With bathroom inside and kitchen on the same floor. Also I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. It’s quite small and basic if not to say spartan. But... More

We were in an ensuite room, i think there is only one in the hostel. Will start with the good stuff: location is great because it is close to the bus station and close to central part of town so you can walk it everywhere; cleanliness was also quite impressive, with bedding changed every day. The owners are very helpful... More
