We stayed at La Casa de Barro in September for a week and were happy with the ambiance, service, food and everything about this place! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the property is beautiful and well-cared for and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was great. We also ate most of our dinners... More

Driving from Santa Teresa, the initial plan was to stop at fancy Urubamba, we went on to visit Salinas and Moray, at the map Chincheros was a good option before arriving at Cuzco. That is the situation is just need to stop over, a clean and decent motel would be fine. However La Casa Barro proved to be one of... More

We booked this hotel by mistake, as we initially intended to stay in Urubamba, not Chinchero. This ended up being a blessing in disguise, as Antonio and his staff provided a superb hotel experience. The hotel is located on a quiet street at the base of a slope. The views and sunset were amazing. The food, hospitality, and ambiance were... More

We spent two nights here and enjoyed it, due to the attractive room and warm alpaca blanketed beds. Very comfortable. Really appreciated the warm heater and hot water (they asked us when we wanted the hot water turned on..for two hours each morning and evening) The first class restaurant is fine. We ate 5 or 6 dishes from the menu,... More

My daughter and I selected this lodge from reviews on Tripadvisor and we loved it. We were there in June 2012 and it was cold at night, but the rooms were clean, cozy and warm. We ate dinner in the lodge and the food was wonderful. Breakfast was the same..good food. The staff takes very good care of you and... More

We arrived with my husband feeling very sick with a chest cold/altitude sickness. Antonio was very helpful with the altitude sickness, even stopping at the local pharmacy for pills on his way into Cusco and returning to the hotel to give them to me when I had been back five times and always found it closed. He also gave another... More

Stopped here for one night on our way back from Machu Pichu after the Salkantay Trek - but wished we could have stayed longer. The bath was a real treat after our long trek and everyone was so friendly. We arrived late and the restuarant was closed but they rustled up a couple of the best burgers and offered limes... More

Our time at Casa de Barro was perfect in every way. It started with Jose, co-owner, picking us up (a group of six friends) from the late night train on the way back from Machu Picchu. He was right on time, very accommodating, sharing his knowledge about the Sacred Valley as we drove along - just like he did for... More

Casa de Barro is a very fashionable lodge in a town nestled high in the mountains. Antonio is a gracious and natural host. The rooms are beautiful, tasteful and cozey. The on-site restaurant is excellent- very wonderful food, real coffee. Chincheros is "the" village to be in if you want to visit and talk with the women who have, for... More
