We had to change our plans since the eco-lodge, two weeks before we were to arrive, sent an email telling us that they would be closed one of our dates and asking us to change our dates. Since the rest of the vacation was booked (and in some places non-refundable) we had to skip the eco-lodge and scramble to find... More

I'm sorry that your vacation plans were inconvenienced, and that you did not actually stay at the Eco-Lodge. We had unexpected repairs that were were required and the only day the contractor could come was the day you were due to arrive. Rather than spoil your experience with excessive noise and mess we suggested that you arrive one day later.... More

This is a beautiful place to enjoy the wilderness without "roughing it." Trevor was a wonderful host, and as former professional chef, he prepared delicious meals for us. The rooms were small, but cozy. The bathrooms were shared, but nice. We enjoyed a canoe trip, the hot tub, the lake, the hammocks, the gazebo, and the pedal boat. Trevor also... More

A great escape, we cannot praise Trevor enough, nothing is too much trouble and he cooks good grub too! Basic and rustic and suitable for active families and grown ups alike, the lodge is rustic and has great wildlife both inside and out! One of the attractions is the fact that you get to meet people from all over the... More

A group of four adult friends headed into Algonquin anticipating canoeing in the wilderness, hot tubbing on the shores of a lake and hiking in the surrounding areas. We were not disappointed. We canoed to High Falls, swam in the private lake, enjoyed a beverage in the hot tub, howled for wolves around the campfire and were throughly taken care... More

The Eco-Lodge is about a 3 hour drive from the centre of Toronto, nestled in the Algonquin National Park, which is filled with lakes and forests. My friend and I stayed for 5 days in May. We were lucky enough to have the Lodge pretty much to ourselves. The Lodge is amazing - the bedrooms are really comfortable, the communal... More

My husband, 2 best friends and I stayed at the Eco lodge as a part of a multi sport weekend. We booked thru Call of the Wild. Right from the time of booking our experience was great! Friday we enjoyed a dog sledding tour with Highlands Wilderness Tours. It was such a fun time. We then drove to the lodge.... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the lodge and we loved every minute of it. Robin and his staff were perfect hosts. We loved their casual, relaxed style, amazing meals and comfortable accommodations. The lodge is an ideal setting - simple and beautiful. We loved the outdoor hot tub, even in -32C! The groomed snowshoe and x-country ski... More

Enjoyed the winter woods by snowshoe. So many trails. Trevor, Robin and chef Arianne were always hospitable. It's like being invited to a friend's cottage, but without all the wood chopping, cooking and cleaning! Loved the hot tub and sauna too.

Really fabulous. Truly unique. Very peaceful. Beautiful spot. Great value. Hot tub right by the water! Sauna as well. Peaceful. The hiking trails were close by with some hilly terrain. A fabulous waterfall right by the lodge.

Lovely place to spend time off grid and in the woods, with a fantastic small private lake, the comfort of a wooden lodge and even hearing the wolves in the morning. You wouldn't get that in a classical hotel or lodge! What you get is nature and quietness and some adventure, and that is wonderful!
