We've been coming to Algonquin and camping at Canisbay for decades and love it. You get the odd first time camper or ignorant group who's a bit loud but for the most part people go camping to relax and have fun with their friends and family! First time post for me on tripadvisor and I'm surprised at some of the... More

We stayed 5 nights in the no-electric side of the grounds. During the week is was quiet and low key. Friday night got busy and louder, but that's to be expected. The water is clean and the beach area a little coarse, but good. The no-electric side is a little far from the beach so we drove. The path between... More

We have been to Pog Lake and Rock Lake numerous times but decided to stay in the West end this past Labour Day Weekend. We found our sites (104/105) to be large and most sites during our walks around the park to be the same, some very private. The lake was nice and we had no issues at all.

Extremely disappointed in my recent trip to Canisbay Lake on July 28th and 29th, had just got to the site and put up our tent. Than had to drive to Whitney to get supplies(because of small vehicle)for the two days. Got back unloaded car, than went to the Canisbay store office to get wood and ice, got back to our... More

We decided to stay here on our way back from Ottawa because we loved the park so much and wanted to do some more hiking trails. We did not book a site and requested a non-reservable site. The receptionist gave us a list of all the sites available and gave us the option to choose between at least 20 campsites.... More

Canisbay was our first Algonquin camping experience on Labour Day weekend 2013. We liked the long winding road into the campground and found the campsites to be a generous size and clean. We were far from the comfort station but flush toilets, water taps and vault toilets were all close at hand. I was nervous camping at Algonquin because I... More

This campground was beautiful and so easy to find! The staff were very friendly! The site we had was very roomy. We had a trailer along with a 6 man tent and still had tons of room. The beach area is beautiful, the lake is clean but very shallow. The bathrooms were amazing! So clean! Smelt clean! I was very... More

We stayed at Canisbay at the end of September 2013 after moving from Rock Lake campground which had very little privacy and sites close together. The trees were in full colour entering the campground and we stayed in a large, private site completely surrounded by colourful trees. It was so bright that when it rained one day, we thought the... We stayed here Aug 19 - 21 on an electric site - 188. We have an old VW camper van and two tents so the big site with space for a large RV was very spacious for us. We arrived on Monday afternoon and found the campsite quiet, people very relaxed.. We took a stroll down to the beach which... More
