Wonderful campground with fairly secluded sites. There are number of sites were radios and pets are forbidden which makes the camping experience more enjoyable. The call of the loons at night and the howling wholes in the distances make the place quite memorable.

As in another review I wrote on Canisbay, it is without a doubt one of the better camping experiences in the park. Private (mostly) sites, nice beaches and canoe outfitters come to the campground if you don't have your own but our last 2 camping trips - 10 days in July and another 10 in August - really left my... This is my favourite campground in Algonquin. We stay here every year. The campsites are secluded. The day use has a nice clean beach with spectacular views. The washrooms are always clean and facilities in perfect shape. You can hear loons at night and almost year we have heard wolves howling. I cant say enough about this place!

Have been there 4 trips this year so far would never go to another campground. Very clean, private sites and awesome. For the lady that said it was badly run she is so wrong. If u can't clean your site then u deserve what u get. The wardens are looking out for your safety. We all have to do our... More

My family stayed at Canisbay Lake 5 nights. Large and private site (220). Quiet in our area but the sites that are closer together in the inner areas seemed louder and rowdier. Too many barking dogs for my liking. Nice to leave the canoe at the beach although we came home empty handed in the fishing dpt! Clean comfort station,... More

Canisbay at is a beautiful park. But.....it is very poorly run. The latest example of blatant ineptitude is a 2AM wake up call by very inexperienced park ranger who thought I might have wildlife attractant on site. The "garbage" turned out to be tarpaulins and water bottles. She ordered me to put my barbecue in the truck, criticized my dishwashing... More

Spend a long weekend at the Canisbay Campground. This campground is the best of them all as it truly represents what Algonquin should look like with its well spaced sites and Maple trees everywhere. As in any campground now-a-days, your stay depends on the stupidity (or lack of) or your neighbors. In my case things were pretty good, with noisy... More

Loved Algonquin for its beautiful scenery, wildlife ( saw Two Moose ), hiking, swimming, biking and just enjoyed family time. We loved Canisbay Lake for kayaking and canoeing as it was so natural and not crowded with other boaters. We enjoyed campfires during our four night stay and was very impressed with privacy of our campsite.

We were on site 23, a walk in site and loved it. There was a good spot of higher ground to place our tent in prep for the rain, though the path to the car floods (see pics). When it was just spitting we were still able to stay out at the campfire because of the tree cover. Mosquitos weren't... More

Canada's premiere provincial park is just outstanding. Filled with so many options. This campground was ok - nicely wooded though my particular site (153) was very small. Good restroom and shower facilities. Nice lake area/picnic at the end of the campground road. Be aware no cell service could be had at this site but could within a kilometer.
