An excellent overnight stop off point. Tartan carpets and a few creaky floorboards take one back in time but the rooms have been quite well modernised and clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and efficiently and food of high quality. I'd certainly stay again when in the north of Scotland.

Stopped here at 2pm on 29 July 14 for lunch wondering if we were too late to get food. Not a problem - food served to 3pm. Lovely staff looked after us and we had the venison sausages and beer battered haddock and chips - very tasty and good value too. Final stop was the immaculate toilets. All in all,... More

It was like "coming home". Old, squeeky, few floors at the horisontal ;-) (I like it), friendly, sevice minded staff with a little differncy in skills. Food; something for your sight, your nose, your taste, your belly and your soul, all in one! They had real Ale in the tap :-)! The sceenery was brathtaking, even from a person used... More

What a lovely find, great friendly staff, lovely rooms, suberb food, it was so worth the journey to visit this hotel. We used the hotel as a stop over while touring the north and west of Scotland, could have easily stayed longer had time allowed.

We found this hotel to be clean with excellent hosts. Food was absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Bedrooms were very comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Other hotels could learn a lot from David and Lorraine. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Nice enough hotel, I agree it is a 'bit tired' and our room was very hot being in the attic. Bathroom bit dated, shower awful. Nice, friendly staff, food amazing, enjoyed every part 3 course meal, only thing, they asked if I wanted water on my table to which I said yes and got charged £4, a bit steep for... More

This is another tired hotel. I won't go into to much detail but let's just say we had to ask them to clean the toilet. Which they did and they did say there were sorry, but if you look round the bathroom there was body hair from other guests. The evening meal was to a very good standard in fact... More

Stayed 2 nights here in a Superior room. The room was large and we had views in 3 directions as our Superior room was at the far side of the house. The nicest view was of the tower ruin, on a hill behind the hotel. The room was clean and had electric heaters which was useful as this area can... More

This was our second stop on a tour around Scotland on our bikes. We arrived at the hotel around 5 and found safe on site parking for all the bikes. We booked in and was taken to the rooms by the very friendly staff. Very large and clean room with a bath and shower in our room and just a... More

What a relief to arrive here after a dreadful rainy day! A lovely welcome at this hotel. Full of elegant furniture plus modern updating too. We stayed in room 18 "Lady Claire". Huge room with wonderful views. Complementary sherry awaited us, a nice touch. Very comfy and immaculately clean. Wi-fi in the rooms would be very helpful if, like us,... More
