Great stay at Polcraig, lovely comfortable room. Amazing breakfast and lovely welcoming host. We will be back as will the other couple we were travelling with. Definitely a good place to base yourselves when discovering Assynt

If staying in Lochinver I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Polcraig House. Good location, plenty or parking, absolutely spotless, comfy bed, good showers and tasty freshly cooked breakfast! What more can you ask for? Cathel is also very knowledgeable on local fishing and happy to point you in the direction of where best to have a cast.

We have stayed hear a few times over the years the last time at Easter this year. The rooms are immaculate - comfortable, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Some have great views over Lochinver Bay. The host Cathel is welcoming, friendly, informative and obliging. The breakfasts are the best I have had at a B and B with a good... More

This is our second visit to Polcraig. This time we stayed six nights and it didn't disappoint. Cathel is a great host, always very welcoming and with an encyclopaedic local knowledge. He advised us on some good places to eat. The breakfast is excellent, the accommodation clean and tidy and situated in the middle of Lochinver itself.

My wife and I stopped for 2 nights with Cathel last September. He's a lovely guy and a great host. He welcomed us warmly into his very clean and tidy house. His breakfasts give a grand start to each day and he knows so much about the area. We got talking about where we grew up. He knew the West... More

We had three nights at Polcraig while up in the north of Scotland tackling a few mountains like Suilven and visiting the gorgeous, but remote, Sandwood Bay. Cathel looked after us very well with excellent breakfasts to start us off through the day on our long hikes. Polcraig is very conveniently situated in the centre of the village and has... More

We stayed one night at Polcraig without a prior booking. Cathel was an excellent host. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed. Breakfast was excellent and cooked by Cathel. A screen on the shower , rather than the plastic curtain, would have given more room and ease when showering but overall it was a great choice of B and B.

We booked a room at Cathel's Polcraig GH at the last minute and we were lucky he had one room left for us. The GH is well situated in the village. Cathel is very welcoming and will be the person to speak to if you like fishing. The room we were given was on the small size (especially with a... More

We had four nights here and had a wonderful time. Cathel served us some great breakfasts that put us on for the day. We had a double room lovey clean and spacious with a very good en suit shower. The house is central so it is easy to walk to restaurants for a meal at night. The Assynt area is... More
