I organised the cycling holiday referred to below. Not only did Alex open his doors to fifteen of us, he arranged accommodation for another fifteen around Jedburgh, and put on a meal for thirty five in the evening that was a delight - great food served rapidly, but in an informal, friendly way. The rooms are great, the bar is... More

Pitched up as part of a large group of cyclists - and absolutely nothing fazed the staff here. The bar dealt with rehydration (in the form of beer), we got a shed opened up for the bikes to be stored overnight, all the rooms were comfortable, and the evening meal, which included all the rest of the group who weren't... Centrally located, the Glenbank is run by Alex one of the most cheerful people I've ever met who cannot do enough for his guests. The bar serves great beer and fine whiskies, the restaurant does great food and a wonderful breakfast. The rooms are spotless, very comfortable, light and airy and good value. Perfect place to stay when passing through... More

Stayed for one night. Room was lovely. Very comfortable and newly decorated. I ate in the restuarant. The food was very good and the waiter friendly and helpful. I throughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. I would also recommend a visit to the fabulous Abbey which is 5 minutes walk away.

We have been to the Glenbank Hotel for a meal 3 or 4 times now as we are locals, the first meal (before the refurb) was very nice, the service was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome and the menu suited both fussy and adventurous people. Since then, it seems to have went downhill, you still get excellent... More

It's like visiting old friends, even during your first stay. Very clean, lovely rooms, good breakfast and restaurant meals, and very very very nice people! Very quiet but central in Jedburgh which is a nice place to visit with its castle & abbey, but it's also a good starting point for tours in the area, e.g. cycling in the Borders.... More

Friends from Macclesfield were staying here (Sat 28 April) We joined them for dinner. The dinningroom was very fresh. Lighting was subtle. The menu was limited but what I had was very nice(pork). My husband and friend had Cheese & Biscuits for dessert. It was a little disappionting...no explanation as to what the cheeses were and the presentation wasn't great.... More

Our first visit to this hotel but we are sure we will return. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. We were given a very warm welcome and enjoyed our stay. Hotel has been recently refurbished and our room was very comfortable. The room and en-suite were very clean with everything we needed to make a comfortable stay. We ate... More

The hotel host, Alex, is very welcoming and friendly. The hotel has been recently renovated to a high standard with a variety of rooms to chose from depending upon your budget. As we were only staying one night we decided upon one of the smaller rooms which was more than adequate, room was of a good size and the bathroom... More

We had a delightful stay. Room was clean and fresh, as was the en-suite. Good central heating and excellent wi-fi. Stair access was roomy. The host was warm and engaging and full of helpful information. Breakfast was just right. We would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.
