Loved this place! Had an overnight stay to break up the long drive from North East Scotland back to West Yorkshire. Stayed in the family room with our 4 year old son and couldn't have asked for better. He was in an interconnecting room with bunk beds and had his own TV in there, so he could watch CBeebies without... More

Our party of 4 was walking St Cuthbert's Way, finishing at Harestanes for the day. Chris willingly picked us up and drove us to Allerton House, settled us into our rooms and set about finding us somewhere to eat, no easy task as the local festival meant most places were booked up. But Chris booked us a restaurant and a... More

Five of us hiked the 68 mile Borders Abbeys Way loop - we started our trek and spent our last night at the Allerton House in Jedburgh. Chris and Carol were wonderful hosts and their B&B exceeded our expectations. The house sits on a hill just outside of town (a 10 minute walk from the bus station/info center/Abbey). There is... Personal 4 star B&B in Georgian house packed with atmosphere. The friendly couple Chris and Carol are very welcoming hosts and give you a lot of worthwhile tips. The B&B is beautifully set with a big lounge for the guests (and complimentary whiskey and sherry), well appointed rooms with state of the art bathrooms. Fresh and contempory whilst retaining quintessential... More

We stayed here when walking St Cuthberts way. It was lovely. Chris and carol are great hosts. Room was brilliant, more like a flat!. Breakfast was good. Nice variety and nothing was too much trouble. Would definately stay again.

Allerton House Hotel is run by the owners Chris & Carol and I mean run !! The rooms are spacious and spotless as well as comfortable. Breakfast is to quote Shakespeare ' As You Like It' , a full English/ Scottish or a healthy fresh fruit dish with healthy yoghourt. I went for the unhealthy while my wife made me... More

I stayed at Allerton House for four nights with my mother and sister on a recent trip to the borders. We decided to base ourselves in Jedburgh rather than move around and it was the right decision. The house is warm and welcoming with a nice lounge for use of guests. They serve a delicious breakfast and are extremely helpful... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Allerton Guest House and B&B in Jedburgh is a welcoming Georgian house set in a lovely, sizeable garden giving the impression that it’s in the middle of the country when, in fact, it’s just off the Main A68 trunk road and only 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of the attractive Borders town of Jedburgh. With just six rooms (one fully equipped for people with disabilities), the atmosphere is personal and informal whilst the standards come up to those required in these modern days for both business and leisure visitors. The spacious rooms are all en suite and are equipped with free wi-fi, digital television, an Ipod dock, iron, hairdryer and, of course, tea and coffee making facilities. Your hosts, Chris & Carol Longden, enjoy serving a really good breakfast (with healthy and vegetarian options) using locally-sourced ingredients such as St Boswell’s Black Pudding, Denholm sausages and free range eggs. There are some really good local restaurants and bistros and the fish and chip shop is excellent – and all just five minutes walk away. ... more   less
