The proprietors, Carol and Chris go to extremes to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All amenities are present, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is well appointed with all tourist sites within walking distance and is set in beautiful surroundings. The cherry on the cake is the breakfast. Do not leave without trying the porridge. The full... More

It's a taxi ride (we liked Pete's taxis) away from St Cuthbert's Way but only a short walk from a load of pubs and eateries in Jedburgh. We thought the bed was exceptionally comfortable and we loved the Highland Soap Company toiletries so much that we ordered some online then other day. Breakfast was nicely served and tasty.

This is a beautiful home that was built by a merchant 200 years ago. The gardens are beautiful The rooms are spacious. The current owners continue to make this a gracious place with a good bed, lovely linens, and a gourmet breakfast. It is tempting to linger longer.

Spent a night here in May. It is a lovely house and our room was well appointed and comfortable. The owners were particularly friendly and helpful, without being in the least intrusive. There were numerous thoughtful touches which contributed to an enjoyable stay, such as the availability of daily papers in the comfortable sitting room and the offer of a... More

Stayed at Allerton House to meet up with my boyfriend who was walking Land's End to John O'Groats and this was a convenient stopping place as he hit the Scottish borders and St Cuthbert's Way. What a find. Allerton is one of those Guesthouses that go the extra mile and provide all those little extras that make a stay away... More

My sister and her husband stayed again at this establishment recently. This time they had the separate little house/flat. It has a wet room and kitchen/lounge downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. It had everything they needed and they had a great time. They could have opted to have breakfast included but didn't. When I stayed there the breakfast was a... More

We stayed here for the first two nights of our St Cuthbert's Way walking holiday. Superb room with a fine view over the valley. A short walk down into town. Breakfast was first class too, although the packed lunches would have been better had we been given a choice of what we would like to have. That said, we would... More

Great place to stay for business or leisure. Comfortable bedrooms and an excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. The location is very handy for the town centre and also if you are passing through on the cross border route. Great attention from the owners.

We stayed at Allerton House in March and had a perfect 3 night stay. Our room - Castle Room - was tastefully decorated, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Carol and Chris were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was excellent, especially Vegetarian Haggis !!! A lovely place to stay, highly recommended.
