We have stayed here many times under the old ownership but not the new. Then it was simple but great standards, lovely dining room/silver service for breakfast and dinner and great staff. We arrived this time and was told by a grumpy manager in reception that he did not have my booking. I showed him the e mail his hotel... More

We stayed 1 night in this delightful hotel facing the harbour. The hosts William and Tamara were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The food at dinner was excellent and there was a wonderful ambience in the dining room; waiter service was faultless; William assisted with the wine service and recommended a particularly good white... Stayed here on a single night in the middle of a long journey, and slept the sleep of the dead in a very comfortable beer addled and food filled daze. This is a classic port hotel, for weary travellers after a long day or just before they head off somewhere into the distance. Staff we very very helpful, and breakfast... More

Stayed here for one night with family. The hotel was quiet when we arrived & no receptionist at desk however the bar man was more than happy to check us in. We had booked superior rooms which we loved - they are very different with antique furniture & four poster beds. Rooms were spotless & lots of toiletries provided &... More

One nights bed breakfast and dinner in a beautiful room overlooking the lough. Very friendly staff and great attention to detail everywhere. Spotlessly clean. Great food too. Would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you

After staying in this hotel before and really enjoying it. It really saddened me that this hotel is no longer a good example of the wonderful food and a friendly welcome that is normally associated with Northern Ireland. We had an an evening meal which was terrible as was the breakfast and the plates were thrown down on our table... More

I love this hotel. When I visit Portaferry I like nothing g better than sitting outside for a coffee or a Guinness taking in the view of the lough. I've been coming for three years now and although I've no need to stay, found the food good and the hotel beautiful. I noticed a deterioration in the finer details last... More

Attending a wedding in the area, my partner and myself were delighted to be given such a genuine welcome and naturally friendly Ulster service in this tastefully appointed, comfortable hotel. The well-dressed Proprietor gave personal service - and even a gratis upgrade due to a booking misunderstanding among his staff. If your idea of a perfect hotel is 'modern Ramada'... More

We spent a night here recently and had a room with a lovely view over the lough which was nice. We decided to dine at the restaurant and were a bit disappointed. My chowder was good but the plaice was a bit tired as if it had been frozen. my husband's mussels were good but he said the monkfish was... More
