Cockroaches in our bathroom and public bathroom next to bar was disgusting ... the restaurant lacked any ambiance and we had soulless meal .... that said, the building is beautiful and our room full of character. However, the bathroom experiences clinched it and we checked out and stayed somewhere different the following night.

On our road trip through Spain and once again using the Paradors. Olite has a fabulous location within a lovely town and the room was beautifully appointed and had a lovely little veranda overlooking the countryside. The dinner and breakfast was of a very high standard and the staff were all very pleasant. Book the Paradors at the right time... More

My husband and I stayed at the Parador de Olite in October, 2014. We had previous stayed there a number of years ago, and at that time they had their own running of the bulls, with the residents of the city bedecked in white with red scarves. This time we stayed in a beautiful, large suite with a fireplace, and... More

We stayed at the Parador in Olite for our anniversary last year for two nights before heading on to the Parador in Alava. Normally we stay at paradores when travelling for work but this time it was to relax. Having said that it was the second time we had tried to stay there as a few years earlier we booked... More

We stayed in the old part which meant large room, high ceiling, windows high up and dark, tired furnishing made the room quite dark. The staff were friendly, breakfast was good and the evening meal was reasonable if not memorable. We had decided that we had to stay in one parador during our 5 weeks round Spain but they all... The Parador Principe de Viana is located in the old royal palace on the Plaza Teobaldos. This lively square is where locals enjoy the shade of the trees during the afternoon. All that remains of the old palace are the walls. Gothic windows from 1414 remain where once there was a hall in which the royal court convened. At the... More

We stayed here one night a few weeks ago on our way to the Rioja region from Barcelona. We loved staying in a castle. The rooms were nice-sized, with free WiFi, and the bathrooms were very spacious. The next morning, we explored the castle - it's definitely worth spending a morning or afternoon exploring the town. The restaurant was good,... More

Nice hotel, large rooms, checked in early which was handled well and without fuss. We had ordered a double but got 2 singles pushed together , as we had checked in early I thought this ok. Rooms a little tired but generally ok, although I had to request slippers for the room. Meal was good and good value on a... More

Stayed here on our drive to Barcelona from France. Lovely hotel. We opted for a room in the newer section, although rooms were available in the portion that was at one time the castle for a slightly higher rate. Staff was very accommodating. The only slight issue is driving up to the front door, as the majority of the historic... More
