On a driving tour from Madrid to Barcelona, we stopped for a night in Olite. The village is very quaint, and, as luck would have it, we arrived on the night of the village fiesta! Our room at the Parador was straight out of a fairytale. I really felt like a Medieval Princess retiring for the night (after the fun... More

the parador is part of the castle, and has been restored, with some additional building which seems to house most of the rooms for the parador. The public rooms are really beautiful, the bedrooms are probably due for a makeover as they seem to have been done in the 1960s. Still we were quite comfortable for 2 nights, ate once... More

This interesting Parador dating back to 1425 - which is when it was rebuilt, is part of the former Castle / summer residence of King Carlos III. The Parador currently occupies one wing of this castle which has been declared a National Monument by the government of Spain. The Parador preserves it's medievel decor inside, with the main room housing... More

I recently stayed at the Parador de Olite for a business trip. I loved the hotel, it was very different with it been part of the old castle, and Olite itself is very pretty. My room was a good size, though the desk was a little awkward to work on due to been low and a hard wooden seat provided,... More

Stayed for one night in a party of four. The Parador could not be more centrally located in the centre of this small town. Within a few yards, there are small friendly bars and restaurants to enjoy, but we chose to eat in the Parador and were rewarded with a fine dinner, a good choice of three courses very competitively... Historic parador in small town palace. Rooms and hotel generally is clean and decorated with old-looking stuff (I think it was converted from ruin to hotel in the 1930s so ...). Staff was very helpful and friendly, seemed to speak every major european language well. Restaurant was great with many Basque dishes (Even though this is strictly just outside the... More

Very centrally located within the centre of the town, the hotel is part of the tourist trail and walking out from reception there are regularly tour guides spouting their knowledge of the hotel and castle to which it's attached. I say town but it's very small so traffic/noise is not a problem. Olite is only small but is worth a... More

Stayed in the original walled city area of Olite where this hotel is and was a historical landmark as well beside a palace which we visited. The building was nicely renovated but our room very dark and small with a nice updated bathroom. It did have a quaint balcony with no real view but the furniture was a little tired... More

Last minute decision to stay here. The hotel was quite nice. We had twin beds which were find for one night. The room was comfortable and the A/C worked great. Had diner in the restaurant and the food was quite good. The veal sirloin was great. Walked around the town. Had a glass of wine in an outdoor table setting.... More

Olite is a small town in the middle of nothing much, and it's parador is situated smack in the middle of the walled historic center. It's a little windy there, as it is high up on the plain. It has a castle, like in fairytales. The parador is part of the old castle, but only the facade is original. It... More
