Beautiful castle, with terrific views. Very comfortable rooms. Reasonable price as are all the Parador hotels. The building is very atmospheric and well maintained. It is well worth a visit. The restaurant was only average however. Food was of a reasonable standard but not exceptional.

The hotel is located on the top of the hill, with an outstanding view over the surrounding fields and the town of Cardona. Beautiful 1000 year old castle, but looking brand new. The rooms are big and very clean. The bathrooms huge and brand new, although the water runs slow (patience if filling the tub!). Our room was very quiet,... More

Overall experience of this parador is excellent. The view on top of the hill is splendid (despite some major construction work in town that was eye soaring). We stayed here on half board plan and the food we had was sumptuous and delicious, in a traditional setting. The room was spacious though there wasn't a lot of light coming in... More

Excellent hotel to stay in, with all of the usual high Parador service and standard. The town was well kept and quaint, however once the salt mountain and town centre had been visited, we struggled for more to do. Would recommend a maximum stay of only 2-3 nights.

It's a marvelous Parador Nacional, but, at the same time, it's an open museum, everybody can visit it. So, it's possible while you are at your bedroom, you are listening all the people going up and down, even there are rooms inside the castle which cannot be visit, people goes everywhere. And, if you have the bad luck to be... More

Wonderful room with a huge canopied bed. Large bathroom with lots of goodies. No view from the room, but walking around the castle and in the church is an experience in itself. The only problem was the terrible breakfast, the worst we had in our two weeks in Spain. Such poor quality and very little choice of foods. The dinner... More

Enjoyed our stay at this old fortress. With only two rooms on our wing, there was a lot of privacy. Our beautiful room was large with a king-size bed and a jetted tub. While our jets weren't working, we still enjoyed the large bathtub. There were beautiful views of the surrounding areas. We ate a delicious dinner in the town... More

This is one of the most spectacular Paradors that I have visited. It is an old castle perched on the top of a mountain! Very well appointed, a spectacular restaurant with very good food and service. It is an easy stroll down to the interesting town below.

I booked this parador because it was a castle. It is a very atmospheric place but the town is also very interesting because it is based around an old salt mine. It's really worth visiting the small museum in the town and taking a tour of the mine which is now disused. It's also worth paying the small fee to... More
