The Parador is part of the castle dating back to 10th century. But rooms are 21st comfort and amenities. We loved it! Didn't have the room with the 4 poster or the 1 with the ghost though. Restaurant in vaulted 'ex chapel' type room was absolutely charming and food excellent. Buffet breakfast at € 10 if pre- booked was great... More

This was something I had looked forward to since 2009 when I stayed at the Parador at Aiguablava, and we were not disappointed with Cardona The setting is stunning, the building is amazing and the food was also really first class. The sleeping is easy as it is silent up there, the beds were the only slightly weak note, being... More

I stayed here for one night as part of a solo motorcycle trip around Spain. The building and the location of this Parador is amazing - this place really has presence - it even has its own ghost. The general areas and rooms were of a good quality and nicely presented. This Parador is still, in part, a public building... More

This hotel is not so great as to the service and friendliness of the staff. People at the reception are from neutral to almost not polite. Staff in the restaurant and cafetaria goes from slow to completely forgetting your order and making you wait over 1 hour for a sandwich. This does not go for one very very friendly nice... More

Firstly, getting there ... it takes between an hour and an hour and a quarter to get to Cardona from downtown Barcelona. Roads are all pretty good but depending on how you get there I recommend you have cash or credit card ready for a potential handful of road tolls. Also worth a stop on the way to or from... More

First, the good...the hotel meets expectations for castle like ambiance. The many sitting areas throughout are charmingly decorated. Our suite had a large room with canopied king bed, ample amenities, a parlor and an adjacent room with separate entrance and curtain enclosed twin beds. Very sweet and picturesque. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the wine recommendation perfect... More

I could take a lot of time writing in detail about this parador but just take it from me that if you get a chance to stay here just go for it! My 2 teenage sons and I shared a 3 bed room, very handy, had a superb dinner in the banqueting hall and a huge and relaxed breakfast the... More

First impressions of this hotel are breathtaking. You see it in the distance and it is like something from King Arthur and Camelot! On arrival we weren't disappointed. We had a beautiful room that was large and airy with lovely views. There are lots of beautiful public areas where you can sit and read or play cards etc. We ate... More

Our family of 4, 2 children and 2 adults, had two twin rooms overlooking the town and salt mines. While the denuding of the salt mines left a little to be desired, the castle and town were charming and amazingly clean. My kids enjoyed the walk down to town (10 and 12 years old). It was a Monday so it... More

My daughter booked this parador as a surprise for my Birthday. Although the castle is spectacular we were disappointed that there was not any wireless internet anywhere, it was especially disappointing for my Grandson. Also the carpets in the corridors were dirty and badly stained.
