Just stayed here 4 nights. A very good hotel, and iconic location. Rooms very good. Pity the church undergoing restoration so we could not see. Spectacular views over to Pyranees. We were disappointed that Pardor seem to have reduced some facilities, eg the wonderful magazine and some info. Also restaurant NOT up to par.

Voted top hotel cattle in Europe, this recently revamped property is at the top of medieval city with amazing 360 views of the valley. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the restaurant serves good food and wines. Easy to get there by car, it is definitely worth the over night as you explore the region. Reservation was very easy too... More

As are most of the paradors, Cardona is a great place to stay. Because it is one of the paradors situated in a former castle, in this case one which was there because of salt, the edifice itself is one of the outstanding features. The location is a bit out of the way for most travellers, but that just serves... More

Yet another parador that never fails to impress. The usual high standard of room, meant for 3, but the sofa bed was easily big enough for our two kids. Great location, a wonderful castle, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Lovely dinner and breakfast in the dining room, and, as ever, great value for money.

My partner and I stayed here for one night on a driving tour around Spain - it was an average experience - I would not say it was amazing by any stretch of the imagination. Of course the castle itself is very impressive..however we think it could be better value if they allowed guests free admission to view the other... More

We loved the architecture, learning the Parador's history, and enjoying the comforts offered within the Parador. The staff in the dining room and in the pub were patient with our minimal Spanish vocabulary and provided excellent service. The food was fantastic, both at breakfast and dinner. I loved all of the fresh juices (kiwi, strawberry, mango), as well as the... More

We stayed one night only in this Parador after spending a week driving around Morocco in generally (I suppose) 3 star type establishments. Which is fine, we're not particularly fancy, but when we get to the Parador de Cardona...wow, it's just another world. The place is marvelous, I would love to go back. We drove up from Barcelona one morning,... More

This was our first time in Spain and our first time staying in a Parador. We drove from the Barcelona airport, which was roughly an hour away. The roads were suburb and very scenic, what a shame about all those speed cameras though, kind of put a downer on the road trip, would be an excellent route for a motorbike,... More

We arrived here late and the only room availablewas very small but functional - it had a bed. I was feeling ill and didn't think I would be able to eat much but then I learned that the speciality of the area was sausages, so I experienced a miraculous cure. Fantastic location, an old castle.
