The Tortosa Parador has a superb location overlooking both halves of the town straddling the Ebro. A tastefully furnished spacious room, but the bed was apallingly hard. Also, maddening flights of six or seven steps even to get to the elevator. Excellent breakfast. History in majestic surroundings, without too much comfort..

Beautiful, excellent location! Staff were helpful and welcoming. Our room was tastefully decorated, although the shutters did let in drafts on what were windy nights. However, it all added to the character of the Parador! The food was of a high standard and the menu wide.

We got a good deal on a Superior room (132€ inc breakfast), but if I had paid full price I would have been upset. The room was in the tower of the 4th floor, the lift only went to the second, to be fair we were warned about this when we were offered the room but I did not realise... More

Having got my dates wrong on my reservation, the helpful reception staff took a long time finding me 2 superior rooms, but came up with the goods eventually, thanks. The rooms are very dated with draughty windows and in both cases air con or heating that didn't eork, heaters were delivered, but intrinsically I would expect better at over €100... More

I did find it difficult to find since there weren't too many signs in the town of Tortosa and you certainly could not see it on the approach to the town even though, once found it does dominate the town. Also steps up from the car park into the hotel, but no doubt if one needs help one could ask?... More

We stayed for two nights in October, 2014, enroute from Valencia to Barcelona. We took a train to and from Tortosa and that worked out well. Taxi to the Parador from the Train station. If we only had carry on, in retrospect, we could have walked (once we figured out where we had to go). Our luggage was a real... More

In a strategic situation overlooking the town the Parador promises much. The rooms were small by Parador standards. the facilities good, a lovely bar area with sofas. The restaurant was good. The menu a little old fashioned but traditional. Breakfast was superb. The only let down was the very hard mattresses on the beds! They should take a leaf out... More

We booked via the general parador site for a one night stay with our three small kids. We had a very spacious and comfortable, clean room. We enjoyed dinner on our balcony while kids sleeping and the huge breakfast buffet. Well indicated, decent sound-isolation, high on top of the hill. We had some minor issues and although clearly their is... More

This parador sets the standard for paradors! It is located beautifully, easy to follow signs get you there, it is well-maintained and cared for, it is truly an old castle which has been transformed into a lovely hotel, has a great dining room and menu, etc... It is neat and clean and does not give you the feeling that you... More

This one stands well above all others where we have stayed (15 throughout Spain) for cleanliness, magnificent location, excellent service. It is what one imagines a Parador to be. An old building which has been transformed into a lovely hotel. It is an insult to this one to have ma y others included in the Parador chain. The restaurant is... More
