I feel that Paradors like Tortosa are destined to get 4 stars leaving you wondering why you couldn't give 5! Tortosa is a beautiful old Parador situated above the Ebro river affording you fantastic views along the river, of the opposite hills and part of the town - which lacks the appeal of the Parador. Our room was big enough,... More

We booked two rooms at this parador on our way to Barcelona from Pedregeur. The rooms had balconies, were very quiet, the hotel grounds have stunning views and the pool was ideal for the children to cool off. The high point of our stat was dinner. We eat a really good Spanish meal in the vaulted dining room. The food... More

What an incredible location! This is not on the typical tourist path of Spain, however it is worth the detour to this beautiful and historic location. The Parador sits on top of a hill in the ruins of a large castle complex. The rooms and halls are filled with historic items and artifacts about the castle. It is worth a... More

We didn't stay in the hotel but the hotel restaurant is probably worth visiting just for the views of the town and the river Ebro. Food was pretty good but expensive compared to similar Spanish restaurants.

The last Parador on this holiday & once more not disappointed. It is a little tired in appearance but the staff & service, made up for it. What did become apparent is that all of the paradors seem to open & close their restaurant's & cafeteria's at a similar time. We arrived at Tortosa at 15.30 hrs having not eaten... More

We have stayed in 20 different paradors, most of them in historic castles or monasteries. This one is a former castle. The rooms are large, and it is best to get one with a balcony and views. The hotel as a whole is dated and due for a bit of renovation but is still an interesting short stay. One or... More

This was one dreary parador. Apparently when the barometric pressure changes, sewer smells roil up the drain pipes in the room and make it smell awful. I thought there must be a paper mill or chemical plant nearby. The front desk assured me that everyone who lives there has the same problem in their homes. The parador is quite a... More

After driving through Tortosa, which looks a bit run down, the Parador looked promising with its castle setting above the town, We had stayed about 15 years ago for one night and thought we'd stay a bit longer this time. Reception staff were on the whole adequate, but there was no warm welcome, and only on checkout did we encounter... More

This Parador was the best of the three Parador hotels that we stayed in on this trip. The room was a good size, had a balcony, was very clean, and the bathroom was new and well appointed. The staff, both in the hotel and in it's restaurant were all very helpful and attentive. It had a pool, and it looked... More

My husband and I stayed here on a road trip from Barcelona to Seville. Weather was a little cold, but it was fun to wander around the grounds and the town. The room was a double, very large. And I love that European hotels all have hair dryers :) bed was comfy and the shower was nice and big. But... More
