What a fantastic memorable place to stay-- especially after a long airplane flight and short drive from Madrid. We loved the location, décor, and warm historic feel of this beautiful Parador. the rooms are spacious, beautiful and comfortable!. It was very enjoyable!

This is not a spectacular Parador but, nonetheless, we were made very welcome. WE also had a room overlooking the swimming pool and it was clean but not terribly exciting. The dining room was very quiet and, perhaps because of this, we had exceptional service. Again, the food was good (excellent local dishes) without being fantastic. It is in a... More

Excellent rooms, set back in time with all the modern amenities. Ours faced the swimming pool with a beautiful terrace where we enjoyed the sun (and would not want to leave!). As usual in every Parador, the service was impecable. Bar and restaurant another pleasant experience!

We checked in at the hotel in late September. It could be one of the lowest room rates of Parador in Spain. This castle-turned-hotel took me back to the old times yet together with the modern facilities. Our rooms faced the swimming pool and had the green view. Sitting at the large balcony at night and with red wines plus... More

My wife, Henrietta, fell in love with this Parador. The tower is amazing! Try and get into the lovely salon below the tower, where you can sit and admire the intricacy of the interior ceiling. The town is nice and probably the most prosperous we saw on the trip (the recession is cutting deeper and deeper in places!). The food... More

We arrived from A6 (from Madrid) and had some trouble getting to the Parador (we passed here years ago and didn´t remember it was so fussy, and indeed, later on, we discovered a shorter way). We thought we were way outside the centre, but it only needed a short stroll to get there. The parador itself only has a limited... More

When I booked our stay at the Benavente Parador I knew it was going to be special as the various reviews and photos had shown, but we were highly impressed with the place. Finding the place was pretty easy from the motorway and riding up the driveway we could see that we were heading to somewhere very special. It’s one... More

We arrived at the hotel after a long drive from the Algarve at about 7.30pm We had had a bit of trouble finding the hotel as our sat nav would only direct us to the City centre, but with some help with directions we eventually made it. We were soon relaxed in this cool, hospitable hotel. It is a very... More

I was impressed with the bathroom. Big, clean. Not so impressed with the facilities. Pool and gardens closed. In June!!! Thankfully the town provided adequate respite. There is a public pool there, and various eateries. Can't fault the hotel on price.....since it was free....but the staff need a bit of cheering up. Didn't eat there so can't comment.

We stayed at the Parador one night on our trip through León and Zamora. The hotel is smaller than most paradores and is basically a new wing attached to the mediaeval Castle Tower. The rooms were functional with a large terrace and comfortable chairs! Unfortunately the tower bar was only open at weekends but ask at reception and you can... More
