In Spain, there are numerous "Paradors" throughout the country IE government buildings that were converted to hotels/restaurants. They are very nice! The one here in Benavente was clean, comfortable and within a ten minute stroll to the downtown Benavente area. The food at the restaurant in the parador (dinner the 1st night, then breakfast the next day) was excellent! If... More

From the outside Benavente does not look very inviting especially when coming from somewhere as fabulous as Toledo but once inside the town its very pleasant. Lovely welcome at reception and although the rooms are a tad dated they have everything that you could want including a huge comfortable bed and big veranda overlooking the pool. Downstairs in the tower... More

Stayed one night here and had a good look around this lovely old parador. Some stunning architecture in the public rooms. Ate in the restaurant and had a superb local set meal and huge buffet breakfast. Rooms are a bit basic, but that just adds to the character. Easy walk into the lovely town.

We stayed here on our way to Gijon from Madrid. Loved the little town this Parador was in. The cobble stone streets and the Chocolatería were delightful!!! Absolutely worth locating the chocolatería to get chocolate and churros! The actual castle part was rather small, but still gave a VERY accurate portrayal of what life in a castle would have been... Stunning building, Free but limited parking. Biker friendly parking at front door. Helpful receptionist and show to room. Hotel is in the middle of town, so bars and shops are only a few minutes walk away. Stayed for one night, large room, LCD TV and room safe. Free WiFi with a strong, fast, signal in the bedroom. Great pool to... More

Had a four night stay here whilst on a tour of northern Spain which was chosen as had never visited the area and the Parador had a swimming pool. Our room was spacious, on the first floor with a wonderful balcony and two extremely comfortable chairs. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable...a really good nights sleep! The swimming pool... More

Spent Sunday night here. We too, had a nice room with balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. We realised that we had made a mistake with our onward Parador bookings and went to reception for advice. Enrique sorted out our problems quickly and efficiently... and most importantly with a smile( something lacking in some other Paradores) We had dinner as... More

This is the 4th parador on our tour of 7 over 2 weeks. How can I sep arate them? So far they're all excellent in some ways and 'just' very good on others. This one has excelled on our room having a balcony - not a wonderful view but overlooking the pool so having something to watch - and staff... More

This is not one of thr better paradores; it must be one of the earlier conversions as the materials are dated (old, funky bathrooms) and overall condition of the place is well used. The reception and service are warm, welcoming, and helpful. The bar is a bit uncomfortable, setdown several flights of stairs, but with a nice garden just outside.... More

What a fantastic memorable place to stay-- especially after a long airplane flight and short drive from Madrid. We loved the location, décor, and warm historic feel of this beautiful Parador. the rooms are spacious, beautiful and comfortable!. It was very enjoyable!
