This place was rather stressful to find, but once there it did not disappoint. Plus with a TomTom it takes you right there, its just extremely windy and cobbled. However, the hotel is lovely. Lovely service and excellent breakfast as per usual. The only complaint I have is that at 6am there was a huge amount of door slamming and... More

As mentioned this is a most difficult Parador to find, it can only be described as rustic, rooms and plumbing need updating but having said that they are clean and are fully fitted as one would expect of a Parador. The village is very atmospheric and give yourself plenty of time to explore, many good looking places to eat.

The location is perfect. Right in the middle of the old medieval town. The rooms are good size ..ours had a stunning view The plumbing is a bit tired...more of a dribble than a gush Also, we were told there was WiFi in the room, but we only had it in the lobby. Breakfast was great...beautiful fresh free range eggs.... More

It is not easy to find this parador in the centre of the old city - we stopped at the tourist office and were given a map to follow down the stone cobbled streets - you need to stop at the other parador in town - Gil Bras and they will open the barrier and direct you to the correct... More

Paradors are very good generally this one has a very homely friendly atmosphere. The restaurant service was very good with excellent English and balance information regarding the menu & wines of the region.

Having disembarked late at Santander, finding thiis Parador is not easy especially at night and in a rainstorm. The medieval hill village of Santillana is wonderful and not far from the port. Once in the village square you must locate the Parador Ruy Blas.....this is not your hotel. By facing the building opposite Ruy Blas and driving down the left... More

As part of a car tour through Brittany Ferries, this was our first night stopover. We arrived in torrential rain, not good in an open top car, and threaded our way through the ancient narrow streets to the Parador car park. It is in a delightful setting within the old town itself which is a World Heritage Site The staff... More

Stayed one night on a half board basis at this Parador in the centre of this historic town - which was therefore ideal (for us). Vehicle access in to the town is controlled by an automatic barrier – though when we were there the barriers were ‘down’. There appears to be an intercom connection at the barrier to the various...
