This hotel is well placed for visiting the charming historical site of Santillana del Mar or as an overnight halt for the Santander ferry. It has good views and is very much a country hotel. The rooms were fine, clean and had a tv and WiFi. The bathroom was nicely tiled and had towels and some toiletries. The breakfast was... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel end of June 2014 for a couple of days. Perfectly located for the town Santillana del Mar; 5-10 mins walk to all the amenities of the town. Beautiful views over the countryside and peaceful location. Had breakfast each day, included in tariff, and was plentiful for our needs. The staff were very... More

stayed in this hotel as part a group recently and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel rooms are basic and could do with a good upgrade and some beter facilities. The hotel itself is in a perfect location over looking the stunning town of Santilliana del Mar. The staff are very friendly and accomadating and the breakfast while being... More

We booked this hotel via Brittany Ferries for a six day stay touring the area. The location is excellent just a 400metre walk into Santilla Del Mar, one of the best historic towns in this area. The hotel is let down by dated facilities, very thin walls and a lack lustre breakfast but the staff are friendly and the price... More

I stayed with my family at Hotel Colegiata for one night in August. While the room was spacious it looked tired and in need of a thorough clean. The soundproofing wasn't very and was the most expensive of all the hotels we stayed in but in my opinion the worst out of all of them.

Lovely hotel in the Cantabrian Mountains and not by the sea, but we were not disappointed by the beautiful scenery. There was a spacious car park, and a picturesque aspect to the hotel. There are a number of steps down to the hotel from the car park and the hotel has a pool, which closes at 8pm.We were given extra pillows... More

I stayed here four nights at the end of October whilst exploring the northern pilgrim camino routes to Santiago de Compostela. The hotel is in a lovely setting with extensive rear views across farmland towards distant mountains. The building is along traditional lines, well maintained inside and out and with ample safe parking. I was given a warm welcome at... More

A very attractive looking hotel from the outside, but once you go in it was awful. It was so dark and unwelcoming in every corner of the hotel. The beds linen was clean, but there was a beetle walking across my pillow when we got there. A very noisy hotel due to the wooden floors and yes our room smelt... More

Despite an attractive view and a quiet location, away from the town centre, I would not recommend this overpriced hotel. My bedroom was tired and smelled none too subtly of urine. Several of the fitments were loose. Doors in the corridor were noisy and ill-fitting, requiring multiple bangs to close properly. The bed was firm (good, for me) and the... More
