This is a beautiful hotel that was built as a show place for an expat businessman from Luarca who had made his money in Argentina. Our bedroom had wonderful old chandeliers, crown molding, and hand-painted ceilings. The hotel was impossible to find when we drove into town without a GPS. The harbor of Luarca is quaint and adorable.

It isn't often that you find a place that is special. We are so used to staying in your stock standard hotel room. This hotel was a pleasant change for our family of three. A lovely old hotel, clean, huge bedroom, new bathroom and dressing area outside which worked perfectly, big french windows looking out to the garden and countryside.... More

An excellent stay with very nice, welcoming and helpful owners who gave us details of interesting circuits to do from the town. Breakfast was excellent with real coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is extremely quiet. It has a very nice swimming pool and peaceful garden. The SPA and the gym though were closed. I would definitely go... More

An incredible experience. The hotel is furnished with the loveliest antiques and the gardens are lovely. The service was very good indeed. The owner even cooked me some special eggs and bacon on the grill when he realised I couldn't eat any of the bread products on offer. My only criticism was that, at the end of June, the pool... Worth a visit, Luarca is a tiny port on the costa verde in Asturias northern spain however a good restaurant is hard to find. Stick to the ones on the front and dont go the the Maison de Mar as it's terrible. The Hotel Argentina is fantastic and does B & B no dinner. Just outside the town away from... More

We arrived at this hotel and were fortunate enough to get 2 bedrooms on the second floor for our group of 4 adults. The bedrooms were very large ... possibly the largest we saw on our 2 week roadtrip through France, Spain and Portugal. The hotel is clean and well kept and nicely decorated. There was a large and nice... More

This wonderful old colonial building now finds itself set in a run down area away from the architypal fishing village scene laid out far below it on the coast. The building, grounds and accommodation could also do with some TLC to obviate the feeling of neglect that pervades this rather sad 19th century relic. Best left alone until resurrected.

This is one of the classic Los Indianos buildings from the early 1900s, in almost pristine condition. Our room opened on to the Solaris balcony, which was lovely. There was a wonderful bath, and even though the lighting was not the best, the wifi was erratic, and the breakfast was problematic, I forgive them because the experience was superb. I... More

The quirky colonial feel of villa argentina was very enjoyable, and was made even better by the friendly welcome we received, the formal gardens, and the refreshing pool (that we turned out, in July, to be the first people to use that year!) The charming 10 minute walk from the centre of Luarca only added to the feeling of its... More

We drove along the northern coast of Spain passing Luarca,a petite seaside town and decided to stay for the night. We searched for Hotel Villa La Argentina as recommended by the Lonely Planet guide book on the slope from the town. We found this hotel a charming place well taken care of with just 12 or so rooms. The reception and probably... More
