We stayed one night in this parador and that was enough. Our group had three rooms. Two of them were fine but the third had a very strong and offensive odor that made the room almost unbearable. The tour was in Spanish only and lasted about 30 minutes. Not terribly interesting and if you do not speak Spanish I would... More

It's a castle that turned into a Hotel on the top a hill. Very nice views. Really quiet place to stay and rest. The room was huge!!. You can take a tour of the castle that turned into a museum. We spent just one night and I thing this is enough because there aren't many thing to see in the... More

Beautiful castle turned hotel. Huge rooms, some with wonderful views of the town from the top of the mountain where it's situated. The town is worth a visit, but two nights is probably plenty of time to see the sights. A very nice historic parador. Combine this with a night or two in the Parador of Tortosa, which is also... This is a truly great Parador. The situation is perfect. The meals were first class. The bedroom was huge and enjoyed a corner aspect giving great views. The room was clean and the bathroom large. The shower although good was over the bath, a practice I think to be dangerous. As with all the Paradores in which we stayed the... More

This Parador was belonged to the Order of the Knights of Calatrava and was built on lands given to the Order by King Alfonso of Navarra in 1179. Perched atop a hill the Parador provides spectacular views of Aragón and Castellon de la Plana. Part of the Parador is a Museum open to the public with daily escorted tours. The... More

Ok so ....we were here near Holy Week time for the World Superbike Races. We stayed two nights. We spent most of our time at the track- GO EBR ! - but this parador was magical! It sits on a hill. If you drive there, which we did, you will probably get lost on the way to it even though... More

The Paradores are about 50 castles, forts, etc. all over Spain that have been converted into first class hotels. Some are more unique than others and in better locations. Alcaniz doesn't have the attractions of some others, but it was a really special place to stay. We stayed in the older side because the elevator was closer. The room was... More

Although advertised as a medieval castle, the hotel itself is largely more modern, although carefully done in the style of the castle because, as the photos on display around show, the castle itself was in a desperate state of disrepair before being renovated and converted into the hotel. The Parador is on the top of a hill with spectacular views... More

This Parador is set on the top of the town and is the site of the original castle which has been renovated thoughtfully. As with all Paradors it is well furnished and comfortable. Wifi is easily connected. Much cheaper rates for over 55 are worth having
