When I tried to look up this hotel and couldn't find it anywhere I was very nervous about what I would find. However I was pleasently surprised. The staff were friendly and my room, while small, had extremely comfy beds. The bathroom was a bit dated and the shower poor but otherwise I was happy with my room. Other people... More

I'm not ignorant to the age of the hotel, it is after all the founding place of the G.A.A. So when I knew I'd be staying here as the Anner Hotel was fully booked I knew what I was getting! It is an old Hotel and there has been vast improvements made to modernise rooms and the hotel itself it... More

We had the pleasure of staying in Hayes' Hotel after Tipp won the Munster SHC Title last week and what an excellent choice we made. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous especially Phil on reception. We had a great night in the hotel bar and afterwards in the nightclub. Next morning we enjoyed a full Irish breakfast and again... More

I didn't stay overnight but I did go in for breakfast one morning. I chose the Full Irish (FI) and an Americano with whipped cream. Rather than going into full detail regarding each individual item on the plate I'll just say that that was the best Full Irish I had ever eaten and I have eaten quite a lot in... More

Like many of our friends, we end up in Thurles during the GAA season. Part of the day's running order brought us inside Hayes Hotel for a traditional carvery meal. We wanted warmer soup but it was the ideal temperature for our two kids, making it a four-star visit.

Same name, but no financial or ancestry connection to me. Historical building. Much nicer now than when I stayed in 2009. Upgraded electrics and furnishings. Curious and rustic. No lift. Fine food. I understand the night club can be noisy on weekends. We were fine mid-week. Reasonable price. Walk to the train station. Yes, the floors creak, yes there are... More

The GAA is such an entity in irish life that household expect its birth place to reflect the significance of its birthplace. Poor vision and lack lustre staff coupled with poor food , dirty eating areas and a general sense of apathy. There's also a real need to clean this hotel up..
