I stayed here on Dec 26th. I have family in the area so always stay here/have family events here/meet friends for lunch/use the spa. I was shocked at the lack of maintenance in the room and the stains on carpet, marks on wall that surpassed normal wear and tear. For the same price there are other hotels with similar facilities/better... More

We were there for two nights, including Dec. 26 which is St. Stephen's, and were lucky to be in the pub when the Wren Boys came. An old custom, these are kids and teens who dress in costume to sing for a donation, and we saw three or four groups, ranging from some darling children to a very irreverent (but... More

My Fiancé & I went to Silks Restaurant for a four course meal to celebrate The New Year & our Anniversary. It was a wonderful meal and the best steak we've had all year. The complimentary processo really topped it off. We've already booked for Valentine's.

We had a great meal while sitting at the bar. The restaurant was busy and this was the only spot to sit without waiting. It was a fine place to eat and the food was delicious. I had a cheddar cheese burger and my wife had cod and chips. We both split the traditional sponge cake with cream for dessert.... More

Loved staying at this hotel. Got there late on a Friday and got a complimentary upgrade when we checked in. The room was very spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is quite big and has several spots to curl up beside the fire with a book. It has its on bakery on premises and the... More

This hotel was probably very nice when it first opened, but now needs some TLC. My room was a good size and showed potential. The bathroom was particularly bad with the side panel of the bath hanging of and generally not very clean (it had been cleaned on the surface but not deeply cleaned). The restaurant menu was very old... More

We called In to the bar today to have just the main course. The bar looked dark and uninviting. The waiter had dirty shoes and was not dressed smartly. We both had the main course of roast beef. The beef was the best of the dish. The creamed potatoes were lumpy. The veg were big chunks of carrots and turnips... More

Excellent afternoon tea selection, very relaxing atmosphere, great and friendly service, staff were very helpful, courteous and professional. Extremely good value for money. Ideally located for a break from driving on the M8. Very comfortable seating.

Worst stay ever! Just back from a two night stay in this hotel.went specifically to this hotel for a relaxing break and mainly to use the pool and jacuzzi.on the first day we went to the pool and after ten minutes we got an awful smell and realised that someone had done a poo in the pool near us. There... More

I am sorry that you witnessed this incident of fecal matter in the water which unfortunately every swimming pool has to deal with at some stage. This incident is completely out of our control but I guarantee you that we have a protocol in place and this protocol was stringently followed in this case. The first step is to remove... More

Spent a few nights here. Very well appointed and comfortable bed room. It was warm, quiet and a very comfortable bed with really good bed linen. The shower / bath was really good. Breakfast was very good and ate dinner there which was very tasty and well presented . The service throughout was very good every morning and the service... More
