-We had booked a room with sea view for our family. The room we were given had no sea view. But this proved to be our least important problem. The room was smelling awfully due to humidity and the sewage system. We asked for another room and they showed us the only one that was available which was also terribly... More

Amazing scenery, with high rocks in the sea, view to Liviko pelagos, and rich wild flora. Many interesting activities (e.g. diving and spa), three pools, excellent cuisine with many cretan plates and a high level of service..

Even with such an amazing location and the best sea views in the area, Kalypso hotel delivers a very poor service, with not so clean facilities (mold in the swimming pool showers, dirty windows), very small variety in pool bars (1 flavour of icecream), expensive snacks (3€ for 1 scoop icecream) and poor variety and quality of the food for... Kalypso is an overpriced expensive 2 star! Unfortunately we stayed two nights... No service to speak of, if you can even find a staff member. Restaurant is very expensive and only open certain times of day with a set menu. Take our advice and drive into Plakias for your meals. We saved heaps by doing this and ate a beautiful... More

Our coach arrived….. in darkest night…. and trepidation reigned We were warmly greeted…. at the desk…and our confidence was gained. We settled…. snugly in our room….which was quaint and well equipped Looking forward to the morning….. and our first “Exploring” bit. On waking in the morning…. after the passing of the night Our sleepy eyes were treated….. to the most... More

I have to say I was a bit worried after reading reviews that rooms would be horrible but we wanted to stay a couple of nights because of the location. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was nicer insider than I had expected. The furniture was in great condition and there was plenty of room. The bathroom was old... More

The location of this hotel is exotic. Finding the place may be difficult but once you reach, very relaxing atmosphere awaits you. Don't expect five star luxury but overall the hotel is good. Food is great. Evening entrainment is also lively but mostly for kids.

The surroundings of the hotel are perfect and the rocky swimming area is nice. Otherwise the hotel is pretty much stuck in the 90's. There are a few smaller infinity pools which would be nice if they weren't situated in the middle of the parking lot. There is also a bigger pool but the area around it isn't very comfortable.... After 10 nights in Chania we (2 adults and 2 kids) went to Plakias in our rental car to stay at the Kalypso hotel. The hotel is located on a mountain side at the end of a mountain road. By car it take 5-10 minutes to travel to the popular Damnoni beach, Plakias town or some of the other small... More
