This was a disappointing stay at the Kalypso Village - the hotel has a lot of potential and a beautiful view, but our room was dirty, smelly and dark, and the hotel's service is awful. Our bathroom looked like it hadn't had a lick of paint for years - mold was growing in the corners of the bathroom and every... More

Only stopped one night on tour of southern Crete. Not easy to find from the main roads, GPS could be needed to find the narrow road that takes you over the hill to suddenly arrive at the correct place. Google maps tried to take us down a road through a different hotel. Place is vast, nice walks - you would... More

The best thing about Kalypso is its location - between gorgeous sea and high mountains. The hotel itself needs a bit of work - our room was alright, but the bathroom had a strong mildew smell. We stayed there for 12 days on an All Inclusive package. You need to know that All Inclusive means something completely different in Europe... More

As other reviewers have stated unless you are content relaxing around a pool all day you must have a hire car as this place is a fair distance from anywhere and it's a reasonably tough 45 minute mountainous walk to the closest town, Plakias. The other thing I mention is you must bring with you a GPS system of some... More

Deciding to come to the Kalypso, we read the reviews on Tripadvisor and realized that the hotel is not new. However the perfect setting on the ruggid rocks of the south shore of Crete, makes this hotel for nature lovers an excellent choice. The hotel offers three pools in different sizes, and a diving club and the most colorful swimming... More

Kalypso is in a beautiful location, and it's Ultra All-Inclusive package was priced too attractively to pass up. While the area is very far from the airport, that would be the largest negative attribute I would mention about the hotel. Most of the staff was incredibly helpful, and the food and drink manager would check in with us multiple times... More

This place is very unique. Tucked between a mountain and sea, away from Plakias is hard to find at first but when you eventually do it looks amazing. When you drive down a narrow road you see a village type hotel complex with swimming pools and surrounded by palm trees and lots of greenery. Steep cliffs being place to many... More

First of all: beautiful scenery, but unfortunately, at the end of the word. literally. to the nearest town you can get by taxi (as I remember 7euro) or by foot - 40 minutes walk through the klif. so better take a pair of good shoes. but the view is amazing. in that nearest town is even sandy beach. food: ok.... kalypso is in an incredibly beautiful location on an inlet with access to the clear blue sea along a nice long deck with plenty of comfortable sunbeds. The outdoor areas are good with at least three pools and superb views across the bay. Our room was large and comfortable and all have great sea views. And it was cheap. So... More

We recently stayed at the Kalypso Cretan Village and we were pleasantly surprised. Let me tell you right up front, this isn't a three star resort. The place is old, décor is 80's, and its a hike from the airport, bout 2 hours. All that aside, the location is BEAUTIFUL!! I was a little apprehensive booking a resort on the... More
