Everything went well. The meals and other amenities along with the picturesque setting. Several weddings and parties took place, but the place was well managed and the staff made you feel right at home. One of the best dinners of 2014. There was a balanced mixture of local products and gourmet dishes. Nice wine variety and plentiful breakfast. Great place... More

This castle hotel lies in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The service was excellent. The restaurant lies next to a river, offering splendid views as you dine. Next to the hotel is an 18 hole golf course, which we enjoyed. There are also beautiful gardens surrounding the castle. The only somewhat negative comment is that we... More

This place is absolutely stunning. Beautiful and quiet - a bit oldfashioned but this fits this place exceptonally well. The room was small but clean and cosy. The absolute highlight is the surrounding park which is as tidy and maintained as it can be. The only down was the faint WiFi in my room. Also - the restaurant is a... More

This castle, destroyed in 1945, rebuilt between 1965 and 1995 is simply an amazing experience all around. The adjacent golf course is beautifully appointed, the park around it is enchanting and the food offered leaves no reason to complain either. We included the Maze (about 600 yards of hedge-surrounded confusion) in our team exercises and everybody loved it. The restaurant... More

We stayed for one night on a business trip. Check in quick, service in the bar efficient & friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, made even more enjoyable by the amazing views over the water from the restaurant. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Nothing at the hotel has changed since my last stay in September 2013 except the attitude of one member of staff. We arrived late, 11.30pm, and the hotel knew we were due at that time. We didn't want any food but expected to get a drink with our colleagues who had arrived earlier and were still in the lounge enjoying... More

I've stayed at this hotel several times when visiting a supplier close by. It is stunning and the experience seems to get better every time! Arriving at the castle and driving across the drawbridge you can't fail to be impressed by it all. We arrived quite late in the evening but the restaurant staff were still waiting for us. The... If you’ve always wanted to stay in a castle without the drafty rooms, or high rates that invariably occur due to expensive renovation, the Parkhotel Wasserburg in Isselburg is an excellent choice. I stayed here recently for the second time; I had wanted to take a companion to somewhere special, a place she wouldn’t forget so soon, and she was... More

If you would like to feel how it was to live in a castle, I recommend Wasserburg Anholt. You will not really be the guest of the Prince of Salm-Salm, who owns the burg and lives in a part of it, but you will feel like you were the guest of the owner. In the old days, castles offered all... More
