We have just spent a wonderful week at the alpina hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but could do with a bit of updating. Why no shower curtain?other than that the hotel is fab! The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially in the dining room. You could not fault the food and the choice, something for everyone... More

Andreas and his staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful which certainly adds a star. Lots of great things like the free drinks with dinner, free packed lunches and afternoon coffee and cake. There is little or no choice of food but I enjoyed what was provided but I couldn't recommend it for vegetarians - especially if you dont eat... More

I had a lovely quiet (but dark) room on the west side of the hotel with a single bed, looking onto trees and mossy grass. There was plenty of room, with an armchair and interestingly designed furniture. More hangers in the cupboard are needed; three are not enough for a week’s holiday. A table would have been welcome and there... More

This is a good value hotel in a nice setting with a good swimming pool and helpful staff. However it is in need of some updating as the rooms are in need of decorating. Also the food, although plentiful is not much to write home about and every meal is buffet style and whilst this is acceptable for breakfast, one... More

Tradition hotel which needs a little love and care to bring up to 5 star standard. Service & food were very good. Rooms not the most modern but perfectly adequate. Not a wide choice for evening meal but what was provided was of good quality and perfectly acceptable. Drinks with meal beer & wine good.

Not a bad hotel, but really could do with some decorating and some other features such as the wiring on some electrical items really should be sorted out. Food overall is ok, but not much to write home about. Odd that the reception is unmanned on a Sunday as well. Still ... Pleasant stay so far.

Apart from getting the rooms wrong at first which was our fault the hotel, staff and rooms were excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for us and they understood our Somerset accent very well. We went with Inghams who were brilliant and informative.

Great week at the Alpina with Inghams. Both the food and accommodation was good, but the level of service provided by the staff was excellent. The swimming pool is very good, only wish I'd discovered it earlier! The hotel is in a good location, being a few minutes walk from the Inghams office and only 5 minutes from the town... More

Just returned from the Alpina where the food was excellent. All the staff were very competent and friendly. The pool and accommodation lovely. Travelled with Inghams where the reps were very good. Went on a few trips where Garry was our rep on most of them. He was very professional and it was a joy to have such a lovely... More

Travelled with Inghams who were very organised and helpful. Our rep (Neil) provided good info and was enthusiastic and approachable. The hotel food was excellent with a good menu each night and plenty for breakfast. There was also some very nice freebies - a packed lunch each day, afternoon tea/coffee and cake and wine/beer with dinner. The hotel is well... More
